Your assumptions are accurate. Each subset nests further and plenty of overlaps exist. I’d add two major segments though. The first being technology tools such BI operations or physical tool design both for forecasting or tracking. The second, primarily for pharma, would be commercial operations such as sales planning, rep incentive comp, and general field design.
My outside in view: You can have the biggest impact from serving providers/system
Providers/Systems: Revenue Cycle Management, clinical/operational process improvement, EHR/EMR implementation
Pharma/MedTech: Pricing, Market Access, and Portfolio, Maybe Manufacturing and R&D process improvement
Payor: Reimbursement process redesign, digital engagement channels
Cross-Cutting: M&A, procurement
Mentor
provider side definitely has the biggest impact. also the smallest paychecks 😑
