What do folks think about mid-career or executive level MPH programs? Worth it or a total waste money? Was thinking more health related credentials could be useful.

Ohh. That’s a hard call honestly. I don’t think a MPH adds much on top of a MBA.

From what I’ve seen you’d be better off doing an exec MBA from programs that have healthcare management programs. UT Austin/Cornell come to mind.

I was looking at the Harvard MPH-Epi that you can do online/part-time, or the JHU MPH that you can do online part time. Alternatives are the executive MPH at Columbia or UNC. Reasons would be to get "healthcare" credentials, alumni / network access. A decade into working in healthcare and I'm not sure the actual academic coursework would be as beneficial tbh.

MHA maybe. MPH is decent but not necessarily much caché. Source: I have an MPH

Additional context, have an MBA already

I did a JHU MPH full time 10 years after a top 5 full time MBA. Mostly to challenge my thinking and perspective. It opened me up to way more altruistic people than I had been in proximity to before. I looked at it like a sabbatical. I did work in Africa and did work in East Baltimore, which was a huge contrast compared to where I came from. I also applied to and got admitted to a fully funded PhD program at another top school. That daggone MBA had me looking through at everything thru ROI lenses. I could still make more with just the MBA. Dont try and run an ROI on it and dont go into debt, unless you know what you want to do an the MPH is a critical step. On the positive side of things I have been able to move through many public sector orgs and even back into corporate because it is a differentiator when combined with the MBA. Unfortunately, though, I dont think it will ever measure up to the ROI of the MBA. Here is my point: My MBA salary and work allowed me to pay my Hopkins tuition and living in cash.

I am in the same boat following

So I don’t bio degree, but have 10 years of pharma consulting experience also no MBA, thoughts on pursuing exec MPA or MPH without a MD

If you’re already at the Director level then it hasn’t hurt you so far. The MBA would help because you’d be meeting with folks who are on the path to senior leadership in non work environment which makes it easier to sell work later on.

Does anyone have financial anxiety ? I realize I have a toxic relationship with money, maybe because I just started my career (I’m 26yo). But when it comes to spending, I get anxious. I did everything right: saved enough for emergency fund, 401k, Roth IRA and investment stocks. However, I’m always afraid to spend a lot for certain circumstances (ie. Health, moving/new apt, etc..) and be left with less money since I work so hard for it. How do you overcome this stress and anxiety ?
