I take a trip to Germany, rent a Hertz, get in an accident, was rich famous designer, have amnesia, cannot work, don't remember my rich fiance. Do I hold trial in Germany or the USA? And what's included in my case? It was a partial fault, I was racing, other driver sped and pulled into opposite lane to pass traffic when we collided. My partner and I inhebriated with pot, car was partial autonomous with handicap controls becuase it was the last left in luxury.
They make 300k, across the board.
That’s crazy variable. How about between $100k and $2m? You’d need way more specifics.
Rising Star
yeah - I think this level of variability is probably true for ~3-10 attorney firms, but once you are up to $100K, that bottom end probably moves up to $200-300K.
why would any deal with the hassles of being a partner at a 100 attorney firm if you are only earning $100K? Presumably, you don't need associates billing for you if your receivables are that low.
It definitely is going to depend on the region and compensation model of the firm. For my firm, a mid-size regional firm with its primary offices not in NY, DC, or CA, a first year partner usually makes around $200k. The highest paid partner makes around $1m.
Check out the AmLaw 200 report - profits per partner is one of the metrics. I’m sure the actual figures vary, but that should be you a rough approximation.
The firm I am curious is a boutique that pays almost market to first years. (180). So I don’t think 100k is correct.
