Doing the exact same thing I did as an external consultant but now at one company instead of several. Expectations will be heavy on building consensus across competing BUs and bringing an enterprise lens to each project (since BUs tend to see their own agenda). Enterprise lens can also mean connecting people across the company so things actually get done in a cohesive manner instead of in silos (BUs don’t always realize they’re each working on similar issues and that it would be more efficient if they worked together).
Depends heavily on your interviewer. I had actual consulting interview cases, simple factor cases, as well as just behavioral. However, all interviewers will want to understand your long term goals (usually that you will be in CS for a few years and then move to a BU) and why that specific company. They will probs also ask you about your ability to persuade—CS is a lot of soft power. On your part, you should understand how successful the group is throughout the organization. If it’s a new department, there should be a solid impetus (eg we’re planning 1 acquisition a month for the next 5 years or a consultant laid out a strategic roadmap for the next 10 years and now we need a team to implement it and keep it on track for the next decade). If you don’t have a plan, you might still get projects and the team might be successful but it’s much riskier and you might suffer career setback.
