does tech S+O tend to pay the highest for S+O type roles generally assuming similar rank/level?

Interview went well, Total 7 ppl interviewed me. I accepted offer verbally. Then I got promoted and I shared that to recruiter and my current compensation and offer are same. I shared my difficulty to recruiter as it will be a lateral move. He said he will get back to me in 1 day. Its been a week I haven't heard back.

What should I do. (I am excited for this new role also extremely happy with my current employer)

Is it normal for recruiter to not keep their words about communication?

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

Currently looking for Tech consulting/ Implementation consultant/ privacy roles in London. I have both CIPP/E and CIPM.
