That’s a HARD Naynyer.
Why? And what dept
100% go there if you hate yourself and any remotely good or creative work. This is the place where creativity and your soul goes to die. If you don’t drink that thick, toxic kool-aid he is shilling, you’ll be shunned. And you have to be a fool to drink that. For a place that talks so much about empathy and has a made up position of Chief Heart Officer, they have zero empathy and certainly no heart, which is probably why they feel the need to talk about it so much. You go through being undervalued, demeaned and overworked all to line the owners pockets. Run as fast and far from this place as you can!
It’s a hard place to onboard into if you have a more traditional skill set. There are pockets of great work happening over there but in reality a lot of the businesses are social post focused and expect a high volume of work with a blended skill set that you may or may not have. Which is great if that works for you! I have seen more design and digital focused types thrive there but if you are classically trained and not on a piece of business that leverages that skill set you might not love it. Everyone’s experience is different. Ask all the questions:)
Are you being ironic?
People are underpaid, overworked and undervalued. That’s what I’ve heard consistently. And of course, the work is very bad.
It’s one of those few agencies that can tarnish your resume.
I once was accidentally sent the McGarry recruiter’s own parameters for a role. “Minnesota nice” was one of the bullets. I didn’t get the job.
Community Builder
Was there for 4.5 years and had a great experience- it’s got its shit like any agency but you’ll work with some of the smartest people. I started with a chip on my shoulder and very low expectations and was knocked off my high horse pretty quick. Some teams are better than others (like anywhere).
