Law professors

Professors. I don’t know what school you went to, but at mine it seemed like a prerequisite. All CVs were variations on the same theme: top of class, law review, circuit court clerkship, worked at a firm for a hot minute, Supreme Court clerkship, back to the firm or not, write a bunch of stuff most people don’t read, assistant professor, write more stuff people don’t read (other than forcing it upon their law students), and then, yeah, whatever they want. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to trivialize or minimize their hard work or intelligence, just calling it how I see it.

How much does school choice matter later in ones career? Assuming you can enter the same role (MBB, etc.) at each, will a better ranked/recognized school have much impact on further career outcomes? As we make decisions, I'm trying to figure out how much it will impact career trajectory after the first role. I know the network is important, but how much does that matter? As well as the other considerations. Specifically asking about the various levels of t-15.

I am a Canadian. I have a wealth of experience in Education and Educational Leadership (Doctoral Level). I am looking for a position in Southern California. I would require sponsorship. Leads? Ideas? Thoughts??

I would honestly pay fishbowl money if they would let me filter out all these dumb MBB(other firm) posts going on today

I’ve been at my current company for 6 months and my direct manager is exiting the company. I’d like to ask if I’d be considered for the position but am not sure how to go about it? Is it worth it when I’ve been with the company such a short time? I come with expertise and background for the role but haven’t built the rapport at this company. How do I facilitate the conversation without seeming selfish?

Need advice. I was asked onto a project by a director (A) who I report into directly. Since then, another director (B) on the same project has asked for my help with something (and he agreed it with A). The work has exploded & B has asked if I can support B more but that means I can’t do the work for A. The work for B is more interesting & aligned to what I’d like to do but A is the director I formally report into. I’ve asked B to speak to A just to make it formal. I want to...
