Hikes are priced in.
But the next cpi reading will be very telling. The expectation is a slow down in inflation. But if the next reading is much higher than predicted then the market will likely price in another potential hike

like

Average down those positions but make sure they’re quality (e.g VOO or SPHD). Also depends on your horizons and goals. I’d personally throw a good chunk in TSLA but that’s just me. Remember, time in the market beats timing the market

like

Tesla is not “time in the market.” It is an extremely high priced, volatile stock. Curious, where is this upside coming from?

like

It’s only a loss if you sold them or the companies/funds went under.

A lot of times we talk about the Fed raising rates as if it’s a one-time event. In reality it’s a dynamic process that’s going to play out over several years. We know rates are going up, but how far and how fast are decisions that will be made based on ongoing monitoring of inflation, jobs reports, market response, etc.

So if you want to wait it out just be aware you’ll likely be on the sideline for a while, and there very well may not be a “crash” that’s easy to time. As people keep saying on here, DCA slowly over time is probably your best bet.

like

I think market has already priced the rate hike. These dips are good opportunities to invest in quality stocks. But keep 10% cash in your portfolio all the time. Assume investment is long term horizon.

like

Of course it’s priced in. The fed has been clear with its intentions

While I can’t predict the future, I would recommend keeping it invested unless you need it for something. The entire market fell over the past few months so it just looks like a timing issue

like

I don’t think it’s done falling either

JPM projects 9 consecutive rate hikes. I don’t think that’s fully priced in yet— you have others like Cathie holding out hope for just 1 hike. I think there’s more room to the downside. Personally, I’m waiting for the aftermath of the first hike and will start to DCA positions from there.

Anyone else curious about how someone can offer to buy a company, then put it on hold awaiting some information, then say they will pick it up cheaper once that information is provided, or not, and not be under SEC scrutiny for stock manipulation? I guess if you weren't a billionaire and able to swing the stock price by social media, that would be one thing, but since that is not the case. It'd be nice to have that sway!
