Post producer day rate (or hourly) in LA?
KPMG I cleared all the rounds of my interview with KPMG and was asked to provide necessary documents and fill a CAF form a week back and had a HR discussion too. I have requested for about 3Lakhs additional fixed pay since my current CTC has increased and HR said she will get back on this. It's been a week and haven't heard back on the offer letter. How long do you think I should wait. Please wait.

I think this a convenient quote for employers to use to under pay ppl
You should look in your neighbor’s bowl to make sure you’re being compensated fairly for the same job
Openly discussing compensation is precisely making sure everyone’s bowl is full.

The quote gets basic human nature completely wrong. Human beings don’t do things naturally out of selfless interest as he suggests. It’s cynical but true

In context he’s telling a child what she should do, not trying to describe what people typically do.
Too simplistic of a quote; it's important for employees to know others' compensations to prevent themselves and others in getting underpaid, while simultaneously it's risky for employees to know others' compensations because most employees think they're a top performer and it just creates conflict/envy when they are not. This is especially true for Big 4, where most people coming in are use to being top of academia and are now learning that 50% of their hiring class are no longer in the top 50%.
As for this whole "same job" non-sense, very rarely is that the case. The likelihood of two or more people getting the same exact projects performing at exactly the same level with the same exact attitude and personality is just impractical. Having the same job title doesn't mean you are doing the same job. Unfortunately, luck plays a huge role in our careers.

I agree with it. It’s not a quote that’s meant to apply to big 4 accounting, it’s a quote that applies to life, and it’s true. People who are otherwise happy with their jobs (yes they exist) get jealous all the time because “someone in industry is making more.” Or just “someone is making more.” Or “that Instagram influencer is making more.” Who cares.
I’ve had gripes with my job, but they weren’t money-related probably since I was about an SA2. Because at that point I realized I could afford most things I wanted, so why drive myself insane comparing salary or savings? It doesn’t make sense
