Dark skinned or not, a lot of Asians are really, really poor. "Wouldn't even think about college" (if it wasn't for grants, scholarships, and subsidized loans) poor. That's the biggest insult and the biggest tell that the entire endeavor is full of shit. It pays zero attention to real suffering. It just says "this aggregate is worse off than another aggregate, therefore they are the oppressed victims. And you can't have victims without oppressors so the other group must be the oppressor."
I can’t say I’m surprised. This is a part of a trend from various groups to rebrand POC as BIPOC since Asians are dragging up POC stats which is hurting their narrative. People are showing their true colors nowadays when it comes to standing up for Asians.
Well, at least now they’re being honest about it. We need to recognize this entire progressive movement does not work with our interests in mind. Use this as a reminder that we need to advocate on our behalf ever louder since no one else will do it for you or your children.
Since you said children, I’m actually planning on moving back to Asia to start a family imo. For context, I grew up in Asia, Europe, and now currently residing in DC. I’m only 21. Kinda like how I grew up, really gave me a perspective. US and the western world is great to grow but Asia is ripe with potential. Plus there is an intangible difference between Asian Americans born in America vs those who ended up growing in both cultures. Plus, there is less discrimination there and everything generally runs on meritocracy. A value which i think is extremely important. The value of hard work
It has always irked me that people from Asia (East Asia and South Asia) and those from the Middle East are discriminated against, yet they usually don’t qualify as minorities. If that isn’t blatant discrimination, then I don’t know what is.
A very predictable next step by who I would bet money on to be liberals.
If things keep progressing the way they are, within 5 years the idea that asians are complicit in white supremacy and therefore also need to give reparations (and thus will receive the same hate white people receive today) will become a mainstream talking point.
That idea already exists today, and I'm sure it's already been said on TV/in media, but it's not quite mainstream. Yet.

Asians don’t matter to either side. We’re a tool for when the narrative is convenient

people fail to realize there are thousands of asians who live below the poverty line. that’s why you’ll see our people collecting cans to survive.

Kinda seems like a promotion. I’m good with it.

I don’t get it. Can you explain how it’s a promotion?
I just saw this from another social media. Disclaimer: I couldn’t tell whether it’s sarcastic or from a real book.

*Technically* Asian Critical Theory exists under Critical Race Theory but doesn't feel like it comes up oftern
Too bad educational success only gets you so far in corporate America...
I remember I was shocked when I found out I was a POC 😂
