What do you charge agencies? (At each level l)

I think this is a perfectly fair question to ask when we’re factoring in your salary into our offer... thoughts?

I've made anywhere from 10% to 20%, but I've heard some big staffing agencies can charge agencies 25 and even 30%.
One year I only made 30k for the entire year, so don't think it's just placement after placement cha-ching! I also worked at a staffing agency where one made 38k base and then only like 4% per placement. I hated it.
You're getting what ever the salary is budgeted at whether a recruiter is used or not. It's a completely different budget.

The recruiter’s cut is a different budget? That’s new and helpful info. But then why are we always told we’ll get more money if we find the job ourselves? IE don’t have to share a cut with the recruiter. Is that a complete myth?

Sorry...FOR FULL TIME, the recruiters cut is different budget. Freelance, their cut definitely cuts into yours.

Have an offer from a dream company but I'll need to go in at a lower level. Knowing that I can bring a lot of value to the company (read- I know my worth), I negotiated with the hiring manager to have a level/comp review 6 months after employment. If I hit all my goals (ie, prove myself) within that time frame, I'll get a promotion and salary adjustment.

Should this be in writing in the offer letter?
How detailed should it be? I assume I won't know what goals to set till I start...

Is it bad to ask a recruiter to put me in the running for a totally different role, alongside the role that I'm semi far along in the running for? The roles are within different companies that share a parent company that the recruiter works for. I'm much more interested in the other role though!
