Have you heard of the WeReopenSchoolsWhen education awareness campaign happening in Monday? Maybe people will start listening to teachers about this! https://cdn.fbsbx.com/v/t59.2708-21/107496402_2425815814375361_8647519312493494470_n.pdf/Wereopenschoolswhen-13JULY-noon-FINAL-1.pdf?_nc_cat=107&_nc_sid=0cab14&_nc_ohc=xNE2oescWKAAX-dYDZI&_nc_ht=cdn.fbsbx.com&oh=d5bd2ac896321a9711b2644835577e68&oe=5F09694B&dl=1

Lol well I am a type A but I would never say that to a colleague. You can ignore it, say ‘Good for you’ or speak curtly/sarcastically. The last piece of advice is not recommended, but this is usually how I put rude people in their place.
Curious: Why is this an issue for you?
Ignore them or counter with, “ can you share it with me?”
I hope she planned in pencil.
I currently have the same situation. I don’t engage in conversation other than a good morning or something like that. I’m sure to some extent it’s an insecurity of theirs to feel the need to say that out loud lol. I never plan more than a week in advance bc that’s what works best for my classroom. Have to do what works best for you and your students😃
Ignore them. And laugh when they get too far ahead and everything changes!!
Try to have as little social contact as possible. I have a teacher in my school that talks negatively about how young I am and how I can’t relate to modern history. I’m almost 43. 🙄🙄
🤪
my response is "good for you, I don't like to plan too far in advance because I like to be able to tailor my lesson plans to my students and classes more than my own needs!" with a huge smile. life's too short
Give them a real slow clap 👏🏽They clearly are looking for applause 😂😂😂
Say “good for you” then launch into telling them how my life is a complete mess.
Nothing. I secretly admire them to a certain point....then when I am tired of them talking, I be sure to avoid them at all cost! #bragging makesmesick
I’ve been teaching the same grade using the same curriculum for a few years in a row and since I teach multiple grades I know them pretty well. I think I can say that I know for the most part the scope and sequence of what topics I will be teacher.. so maybe that’s what that teacher is talking about??
I am one of those teachers that likes to have lesson plans done a week ahead, but I always have back ups in case my students are having a bad day. I have the special needs students from grade 6 to 12th but I do not brag about it to my fellow teachers. We all have areas that we are good in.
my colleagues don't brag about that, but i know some just import last years plans into this year and they do that year after year. that's fine if you can do that. but in my case I have the same kids forb3 yearsbin a row and I can't do the same lesson or project year after year, nor do I want to. every year i learn new things and see new projects, etc. so I say ignore them and you do you and let them do them.
As a special ed teacher I would simply acknowledge that we live in different realities. Apples are not oranges.
Can you pick their brain or ask them to share a few ideas? We share lesson plans a lot in our district. Also when someone says they can do something like plan a unit in a short time, I'd ask them their strategy for getting it done... it doesn't sound like it will be very interesting or creative. It sounds like they copied and pasted the unit lesson plan the textbook offered. Don't believe all the hype.
