I’ve recently signed a FT offer for FAANG and just received an offer for equity from the startup I am currently working for as long as I continue to provide consulting/advisory support (a few hours a week) as I have a lot of their institutional knowledge. I’m nervous that self reporting to my new company will cause issues but I’m equally nervous about doing this without them knowing. Can someone put my mind at ease and offer sound advice?

I just found out that I am no longer eligible for any of the income driven repayment plans and my monthly federal loan payment is increasing to $1400 a month and will increase on a yearly basis up to $2400. That is my cheapest option. However, if I refinance with a private lender to a lower interest rate, it will be $2k a month for 15 years and I’ll save like $120k in interest over the life of the loan. Has anyone refinanced their fed loans with a private lender? Should I do it?

New first year here (aka started three weeks ago) and my senior that I’ve been working with primarily has been so, so nice. I even messed something up (not a huge deal, but definitely still an inconvenience) and she just said no worries, we will figure it out that’s my bad for missing it when reviewing. Junior associate in a big firm, slowly transitioning to a mid level role. In these slow times, wondering about client development. I know no one is expecting to bring in clients during this pandemic, but any general advice for how young associates can get an impressive and effective head start on business development that could actually lead to new clients? What do firms and clients actually care about (networking in and out of your firm, certifications, speaking engagements, etc)?

Normal to ask for a bonus during a mid year review? For context, I work at a small (20ish attorney) law firm in a major market. The firm said this is the first year they are doing mid year reviews for associates. I’m a first year, 9 months into the job.

My firm is staying open but I’m a litigator- state and fed courts are closing, most of my depos and appearances have been canceled. My Q1 billing bonus cutoff is the end of the month and I’m SCREWED.
