Say you want to use real patients in your creative, but there’s not a lot of diversity among them. What would you do?
WARNING: Several firms have announced that diversity numbers are now part of executive performance metrics. If this app is a gauge, White people and Asians are ANGRY about this. This could translate into more workplace hostility and acts of sabotage from worker bees and middle management for Black people.
Let's talk about diversity and recruiting. I'll go first. I've had unconscious bias training and it helped me a lot. It taught me how to look a little harder at portfolios of candidates who may- con't
What kind of board do you have to write on in your classroom? White board, chalk board, or smart board?
Due to social distancing rules, when the kids come into school in the morning, they have to immediately report to their classrooms. I get it, but I also don't have time to entertain them as I'm prepping for class. What can I do to keep them busy?
Does anyone have a diversity focused recruiter that they like? I’m tired of the lip service that my current employer pays to diversity and inclusion but don’t want to jump right over to somewhere worse. Thoughts?
Thinking back to when I was in school. What do teachers have to do now that they didn't 20-30 years ago? What do they need to provide now that they did not have to provide back then? I don't recall buying anything than pencils/paper/folders. We covered our used books with newspaper or paper bags Classrooms were simple, not every inch of wall space was covered in charts, etc. The districts/teachers supplied nothing extra. What changed that teachers have to spend their own $ now?

What is the job description of a teacher? At what point should we set boundaries regarding what we are being asked to do in the classroom on a psycho-social level? Teachers should be empathetic, stern, and kind, but at what point does that cross the line into therapy? Is it the teachers turn to push back regarding our job descriptions?
How do you deal with non-accepting family members? I don’t make it a thing, but I’ve been advised to take off my tie and change into more feminine clothing around them. I am okay with not discussing my personal life, but I don’t feel comfortable changing my dress. So I just don’t keep in contact with those relatives. A therapist told me that I am not secure in my gender identity if I am not willing to take off a tie and show compassion to a family member who would be upset by it? Am I selfish?
Are bitmoji classrooms just for google classroom or can you use them in a different platform, too?
I’m Team TERF
I’m a woman in my mid 20s and constantly face situations where people outside of cyber (still within the company) that I’m dealing with (older men in particular) who always push back against my cyber/technical recommendations even with managers cc’d. I studied, earned certs, and worked hard to get to where I am. Is it bc of my gender and age? In all honesty, I’ve written recommendations that male counterparts voiced in the past that had ZERO pushbacks.
Any LGBT consultants care to share about their work experience? Being LGBT is awkward to me as I feel the lack of diversity but it's also not common to talk about.
Best consulting firms for real inclusion?
After the whole diversity and inclusion push from my firm, I decided to try to create a Jewish group especially given all the anti semitism in the world. I sent an email to HR in beginning of august. It’s now almost September and no response (this includes multiple follow ups). They say it usually take 1-2 days to respond to emails. Hypocrisy?
We're returning to the classroom full time after Spring Break (finally!!!). I am going to be co-teaching for the first time and I'm nervous because I'm new to the school and don't know this teacher well. Any tips on how to get to know her and plan together?
I'm a new teacher with very little money to spend on my classroom. Everyone else has the perfect pinterest classroom! I'm so jealous!
Happy Friday everyone! Wondering about the demand of skilled agile transformation resources and best consulting firms in this field . Please share your thoughts.
EY - are tennis rackets and tennis lessons permissible under our $500 fitness reimbursement program?
What’s better comp structure for competing job offers if the total is the same (or close): 1) higher base salary or 2) higher bonus + retirement contributions
Thoughts on “pay by the mile” car insurance like metromile ? Live near NYC, spouse and I both commute to work everyday using public transportation, share one car and only use it on weekends.
One thing about the Big 4, they will use and abuse you if you let him. They dont give a damn about worklife balance, your personal career wants, or your advancement. They want you to stay where they want you to be.
Hey ladies! What are your favorite go to basic t shirts? I was really liking the old navy luxe t shirts because of how soft and inexpensive they were, but they wrinkle so much. I don’t want a shirt that looks like I slept in after the first time I sit down, not that I have to steam before each wear. Bonus points for budget priced - I’m wfh with a 2 year old right now, so I want to feel/look decent but not be devastated if it ends up with baby slime on it.
If you put a $ salary figure on the application, but during interviews you realize you sold yourself short, are you cut from asking for higher?
Any paralegals and/or legal assistants that may be interested in 10-15 hours of freelance work over the next couple weeks? I’m an employment attorney and HR consultant with my own virtual practice and I am in need of temporary support over the next few weeks.
Pfizer vs Moderna vaccine. Which to go for? 🤔
I'd rather work from 6 am until midnight everyday than weekends... for my own sanity and mental health. Anyone else feel this?
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
I started to feel I’m not smart anymore. Last few projects I worked on I was rolled off because my skill sets didn’t align and may be I was simply not good enough.
