What do you do to stay productive at work while WFH? My focus and drive has disappeared for whole days and I can’t bring myself to get anything done. We’re experiencing a heat wave and poor air quality from wildfires in the state, but I’ve been losing steam at work days before this started.

The most important thing I do is make a to-do list to stay on track

Set clear expectations with your boss!

To-do list is key

I'm a tech consultant with 1 YOE. Im wondering if I should trade my current job: 80k TC, fully remote, ~45 hrs/week, fantastic company and team, and really fun projects, for a new opportunity: 125k TC, 100% in person, ~60 hrs/week, unknown team and company dynamics? Im leaning toward staying, because I really do love where I am, but thats life changing money! Any advice is appreciated!

Tell me working from bed has been normalized by now. I thought that was the line I would never cross with WFH, but I’ve crossed it. Obviously still take meetings from my desk. This shouldn’t be anything to feel guilty about right? EDIT for context - I still live in a small apartment so there are limited options for where to work besides my desk - and sitting in one place all day is VERY draining - feel like this is probably an issue mostly for younger consultants

Does anyone else feel like WFH has made higher ups notice you more? I feel like when we were in the office I was always judged by my looks, how young I was, my ability to make small talk, etc., but not the content or quality of my work. Now that the only thing they have to judge me on is my work, it seems like everyone wants to work for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful but also TERRIFIED to go back in the office and watch all that momentum go down the drain.

I know we all love the work from home (or do we?) but does anyone actually miss traveling for their consulting engagements and all the fun that goes along with it? The late nights at the office then the bar and random hookups and excitement and all that? Sure it’s a grind but I think I actually miss it too. Maybe I just miss seeing people at work or seeing people at all. I wonder if we’ll ever get back to that.

I have 10+ years of experience Agency side, but looking to move Client side with remote work. I've applied for a number of roles either directly on Client sites or via LinkedIn, but haven't even received anything other than a straight rejection at the first stage. Wondering if anyone has experienced similar and overcome it/any tips. My resume has a number of large Agencies and global clients on it, with (IMO at least) some nice success stories, but wondering if I'm missing something obvious.

Just started a new job & my mental health is not ok. My life turned upside down randomly. I’m moving out in a few months & my parents are getting a divorce out of nowhere. I have been wfh and it’s a lot to deal with. I hide it well but have been coping with cbd & alcohol (cont in comments )

Hot take: permanent WFH is NOT here to stay and we will all be back in the office by Feb 2021 14 days after you're vaccinated (just like in Contagion). It's simply impossible to train new staff to the same standard. Juniors do not learn from seeing other people doing things.

My dad was talking to my long term bf about setting life goals, and told him a story about a family friend whose wife had a large corporate job and her husband “was the stay at home mom” (said in a way that was clearly meant to be a dig at the husbands masculinity).
