I’m on Ramadan #14 post-college. Still trying to figure out the answer to this q
OP - I asked your current Partner team and they said you need to work on your speed to output, especially during daylight hours. I had to feign complete ignorance about Ramadan and threw you under the bus. Then reminded them to call me by my American name. Good luck
A solid suhoor helps a lot. I drink a bunch of water, some almonds, dates, eggs, yogurt. A power nap mid day helps a ton.
Get a nap in after work. Break it down to your bosses on how Ramadan works. Setting expectations is necessary.
I think the answer, OP, is working on projects with BCG1 😂
BCG1 straight savage during this roza! Steer clear!
Damn bcg1 😢 that’s savage
I think if you have good coworkers Ramadan is a breeze. I have over 10 Muslims also fasting on my contract and 2 that I directly work with . We work hard but we have some freedom to joke and play also. Didn’t leave today until almost 8pm and still had work to do. Build the culture you want to see. It needs to be fun, if it’s not fun it’s not right. I find I have much more clarity of thought and can do more strategic work during Ramadan. I also have more energy than usual but do usually need an afternoon nap. I drive to the nearest mosque and pray dhur and lay down andrelax for a few before heading back, it’s a great recharge.
Drink a lot, nap after work also helps.
Bcg1 don't wanna hire anyone. Tried many times
Bcg1 can you ask staffing to put me on your team please? :)
Take a walk in the middle of the day. Go wash your face. Wash your mouth out. Break your day up into more chunks and set mini milestones for yourself. “Ok I’ll get this bit of work done before noon, and then I’ll take a quick stroll or get some fresh air outside”
Also set expectations with management and... this one is under rated. Take time off
Try to go in super early, bring mouth wash with you, take walks and do dhikr or read/listen to a couple of surahs, do a couple of mid day jumping jacks, take a power nap during your lunch hour, work from home more if possible
Bro, if I may, move to Dubai, work half days in ramazan. There is hardly any work anyway in Ramadan. Then go home at 2. Sleep. Wake up. Work out. Iftaar. Alhamdolillah. Wake up till suhoor. Pray fajar. Sleep.
I have been working on this one idea for years but too lazy to implement. The concept is to make small meatballs filled with caffeine, sugar, proteins wrapped in slow digesting fat. The fat digestion speed will determine what you are going to take, so for example fast digestion caffeine balls give you a burst between 9am-12pm and then a slow digesting one kicks in around afternoon. You cant have to stuff yourself at sheri that way and not have to worry about low energy throughout the day. What do you guy think? I know it sounds crazy but think about it. 😂
Get yourself on a pmo travel project. You don’t have to fast on travel days and you can chill for the pmo. ;)
Jokes aside, these are awesome suggestions. I also try to front load any work that requires serious thought and creativity in the morning. I try to save afternoons for meetings because the interaction keeps me awake.
Thanks everyone! Great tips :)
Mmmmmmm....meeaatbaaalllsss
