What do you do when you email your senior about budget concerns but they don't respond even after following up?

Don’t love the sound when clients ask their own team, “team please jump in” on a joint call?! 😂

I'm a second year, and I still feel like I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Partners/senior associates/mid levels, when do you expect junior associates to not act like such newbs? I feel like the patience the seniors in my group give me is wearing then, but I still feel so confused all the time.

Is this normal? Or am I falling too far behind and should begin looking for a different kind of job? :(

Just lateraled to a bigger law firm. The team I am on is much larger now and split between 4 offices. My prior firm was great at rationing the workload amongst associates. At my nee firm, it feels like a free for all. I want to make myself known as a hardworking associate but also don’t know how to say no to new work politely. It seems like every conversation I have when I meet a new team member consists of them telling me how much they need my help and putting me on a new project

I feel like I am so inexperienced in my job that everything takes so long to complete and get used to. Hence, I constantly feel guilty that I am spending a lot of time on my tasks and I am not adding enough value especially given the cost that clients pay for our time. I also fear that most of my time will get written off at the end of the day by the matter managers. Is this feeling normal and does it go away?

Someone may need to hear this today: a staff/senior kissing your a** doesn’t make them a high performer. Your highest performers are probably quieter and don’t seek out attention for their hard work. Make sure you still pay attention to them and recognize them for their efforts, and for f**k’s sake please be able to distinguish between a legitimate high performer and someone who’s just a kiss-a**. You should be rewarding the former, not the latter.
