FAANG Exit to MBB?
3.5 YOE, Non-technical, 150k TC
Been at Alphabet my entire career post-undergrad. Managed to move from Google to a well-respected Bet where I’m very happy. Undergrad was a pretty general liberal arts degree and haven’t pursued grad school yet.
What would it look like (from a TC + long term career standpoint) to switch over to MBB for a year or two then go back to FAANG?

Hi Amazonians,
I am looking for guidance.
I am going to start interview process with Amazon next week. Probably all rounds will be done in 1-2 day time frame.
How/what should I prepare for interview?
Am clueless on what kind of ds & algo questions, system design questions are asked in Amazon interviews.
My techstack: javascript developer- react+Angular.
1. Pls guide me on what/how to prepare?
2. Also, will the interview be solely on da & algo and javascript; or on Js frameworks?

Find a company that pays well and has good culture

I really like my previous boss (but not previous job), so I switched for almost 100k more recently. However, the new lack of WLB/faster pace is super clear since day 1. The experience is echoed by my friends who switched for big bumps in comp—basically the consensus is you can’t have everything. Just something to think about.
Hm well what do you need the most right now, the extra base or the extra time? There’s always time to make more money, but you won’t get your current time back esp if your aging grandparents and kids need the extra attention right now.
If you think you can find a company that offers much more AND you can set strict boundaries for yourself, then go for it. Or keep looking for those places in the meanwhile.

You're unlikely to go from 150k to 250k at your current place, but you can ask and see. Do some research and decide what you want more: your current wlb, or 67% more money plus the culture/wlb/etc of the new job.

Lol I would have taken the money yesterday. The boss I like isn't going to pay for my kids college.

For that much, I would suffer temporarily…But that’s not necessarily good advice, that’s just my weakness right now.
If you can handle your life right now financially, and you like your job and coworkers, I would say that you shouldn’t be persuaded by flashy temptation to burn out.
Same situation happened with me, great boss and team but was offered a 50% increase and I wanted out of the work we did. Hurts but we left on great terms
