Unless there is a step discount on the gift card take it as a statement credit or cash to bank account.

*steep. Gift cards require extra effort to use and you miss out on credit card rewards so I'd personally want at least 10% off to select a gift card over cash back.

I usually transfer it to my bank account and then move it to my brokerage account . But only when it reaches a few hundred bucks
i always do statement credit. i don’t like to think of it as a reward so that helps me mentally keep it that way.
I spend it on vacation when the cash back balance gets high enough.
