Marsh & McLennan I am moving 2 hours from my office. My manager says i have to come 2 days to office. When i come to the office its only me and couple of other people. No one seems to care about coming to office. When i asked manager if i can work remote i was told that its for my career development. Can you guys tell in Canada which companies are offering remote opportunities?

Hi, I have recently got the offer from HCL Technologies, they are offering only 7LPA and I have a counter offer in Cognizant, they offering me 8.8 LPA. I spoke with the HCL HR on the same, HR said that they will revise the offer two days before my joining date. This was happened over the phone call, so I mailed them to send me a mail, detailing all the information we talked over the call, but still I didn't get any mail from them. Now they are urging me to upload the docs. What I do??

Same. Most of them could have been an email. I want useful info, competitive intel success stories or maybe problem solving with the team. We have too many redundant meetings that demotivate!

Agreed. I want my manager to help me understand my place in the larger team strategy. The periodic call should be focused on how my endeavors are aligning with this strategy.

I think weeky may be a little excessive. But then again I have 9 to 12 month sale cycles.
What I do is send a weekly email about what I am working on. That way I can keep my management informed about what I am doing.
From that I would want my manager to follow up on a more periodic basis to explain how my deals are effecting the overall team. From there he could direct me to more strategic and tactical goals. The call would end with the question from him " do you need anything from me?".
Weekly Team meeting to go over forecast for a 3rd time in a week (typically a one on one scheduled call & some sort of other CRM mandatory update) is absolute overkill and motivation killer. It should be a time to collaborate on best practices, competitor intel, maybe hear from a resource group in the organization. 30-45min tops and done. Also, meetings don’t always have to go the full hour and you don’t always have to have your zoom video On. These new post-Covid “rules” are brutal.
