I’m 23 and I would expect something above 500k, taking into account that a normal McK path would take ~7-8 years to get to a partner and then a few years to push the salary higher by going into senior partnership( I know that it takes more than 5 years and only if your top of the top) or switching to high level positions in industry(Im interested in private equity/ venture capital/hedge funds)
Yeah if you come in as a BA out of undergrad and stay straight til you’re 33- you’ll be over $1M for sure
I had some detours in my early 30s--had a surprise layoff at 31, then took the first (underpaid) role I could find while unemployed, then a moderately decent paying job in industry with excellent WLB after that because we'd just had a kid and I wanted to focus on being a dad and husband.
I was somewhere in the ballpark of $150k TC at 33.
What are people on this chain smoking? I want some of that
$1, Bob
I was at 300K, a “failure” by most of y’all standards
I’d love to be able to make 300k at 33 damn
When I was 33 (6y ago) I was making $50k in a 3rd world country. Now making ~$380k.
I was about $400k at 33. And stayed there for nearly a decade.
How so ? What was your role ?
$0, fired before covid- thanks McKinsey. Fml 😂
Was ppt skills just an excuse for something else?
200k. I’m 26 now
This is also a goal. Ill probably be closer to $150 which is obviously more than liveable
450-500
Caveat that I moved over to Ibanking. At Alix I’d guess 300-325
$420k-$430k
Lol that specific?
I’m 31 and at ~$250 now; hoping for a promotion right around my birthday next year that would hopefully put me close to $325; if I don’t get promoted, probably be around $275-$290.
That said, I’m solidly working ~50-55 hours per week with little variance, can easily take time off, live super comfortably and don’t feel like I have to trade off between work time and personal time for an extra $150k that’d get eaten away by taxes amyway
I’m 29 making 160k now and I just can’t fathom going over 250k or even 200k. I was at 110 a year ago and 80 the year before that. The rise is crazy and I’m kind of just waiting for someone to tell me to get off the ride.
I’m a digital specialist
450k
$425k conservatively
$200-$250k, life dependent of course
At McK I would think you would be at least an AP bringing in around $450k.
$230-250K, 27 now
Before this COVID stuff hit I was having a strong year and was aiming for my base to eclipse 240K.
Given the current events, I’m not naive enough to expect a 300% raise in this environment.
500-700k (26 now)
