Does anyone maybbbbbe think that this new “spike” in corona virus cases could be possibly caused by these massive riots in every major city? Not saying the riots are bad or wrong, but let’s not kid ourselves and say these aren’t a contributing factor. So when people are surprised at the USAs rising rates, I mean come on...
Everyone should openly share their salaries/wages with anyone who wants to know. It only helps other workers and is only bad for companies. Biggest company propaganda was getting the general public to think that’s it’s inappropriate to have salary transparency.
I am 9 months pregnant and my firm offers 16 weeks maternity leave. Well, it just so happens that I was offered a job at a new firm, and they are flexible with start date but do not provide maternity leave (understandable since I don't even work there yet). Is it possible to accept the new job with a January start date, but not tell my current firm until a normal notice period ends, so I can keep mat leave? No payback requirements or anything. Would they know somehow?
There's a Tech Test Manager open at PWC Internal Firm Services. Could someone share what's it like to work in PWC's Internal Firm Services? Thanks.
Identified a dream opportunity/project but my partner won’t let me leave my current project. I had the partner on the new project request me directly but my current partner still won’t budge. Any ideas on how I can get my current partner to let me transition?
What are some signs to help evaluate the actual WLB at a company? Seems harder now that everything is remote
My dad was talking to my long term bf about setting life goals, and told him a story about a family friend whose wife had a large corporate job and her husband “was the stay at home mom” (said in a way that was clearly meant to be a dig at the husbands masculinity). My mom stayed home to raise me & my siblings, which ALLOWED my dad to work long hours/be successful. Anyone else face comments like this re: being female breadwinner/husband caring for children more than society expects?
Smallest team you’ve ever been on? Do you prefer working on larger teams or smaller ones where you may be the only person who knows what to do for a particular role?
Do NOT claim you are "colorblind" in the workplace. 1. DE&I knowledge is now a core leadership competency. Colorblind claims will earn you the reputation of being DEI-ignorant at best & racist at worst. 2. Colorblindness within the context of workplace diversity is an obvious lie. You do NOT want to be painted as an intellectually dishonest leader. 3. Colorblind claims signal that you lack the leadership skills & vocabulary to have key conversations. Ask questions here, in this safe space.
Those of you that left Big 4...how long did it take you to find another job? I physically can’t take this place anymore and thinking about giving my two weeks tomorrow. I can live off savings for a co

Question regarding Salaried Employees and sick days. I’ve never worked in a company where, as a salaried employee, I had to deduct SICK days from my PTO. What are your practices?
Just sitting here thinking.. Dang, I got a 3% annual raise. I feel worthless to my firm. I should leave.
Anyone wonders what happens if you are working in US as non resident alien and got COVID19? Nobody is going to care? 😕
What are our thoughts about physically fighting a belligerent woman as a man? Genuinely curious, I'm a Male and had a woman get physically aggressive with me yesterday and I could tell she was about to throw hands. Luckily the situation was de-escalated. But it got me thinking I have no idea what I would've done if she out her hands on me... My personal opinion used to be never put my hands on a woman unless my child or family is in danger or if she had a weapon But now Idk anymore
I’m thankfully hitting my hours, but my firm keeps passing non-billable work my way. I am grateful for the opportunities, but this type of work always seems to find its way to the female associates at my firm. We have been told that non-billable work is irrelevant in terms of our annual hours. Any tips on how to navigate this in a thoughtful way? I want to be a team-player, but I believe that others need to step up to the plate.
