I almost always organize a team gift and offer for people to voluntarily contribute. I try and find their registry and either get a gift from that or a gift card to where they’re registered.
I cannot believe I did not think of the team gift thing. Thanks all, this is so helpful. I was really really stressed. I guess I'll head up the effort haha.
I like the idea of a team gift. That takes some of the awkwardness out of it. So many baby shower gifts are actually super personal if you think about it.
I definitely wouldn't get nothing. If you aren't close but still want to show support a small gift is best. Something from their registry that isn't over the top if you can find it, or a team gift of giftcards/cash so they can pick things out themselves.
Depends a bit on the size of the team, but definitely organize a team gift. If you want to do something yourself, one of things new parents need the most is money…
Obviously we work in an industry where people are paid well and aren’t going to be totally strapped for cash, but you end up buying a lot of different things as you navigate the first few months so it’s helpful to not have to stress about costs. Buy Buy Baby is a good option. Amazon is too but that might be weird for you. When my son was born my mom sent us $250 to Seamless and it was lifesaving.
Looking to apply for an Apple Product Marketing Manager role, but before I do, are there any PMMs on here that work at or worked for apple and recommend product marketing there + can share the rough team structures (I.E how global vs regional works). Thanks!

Haha yeah, I just wait for somebody to take the initiative!

Team gift card plus ecard when remote
Ohh interesting question. Maybe wait a minute and see what the others do?
How can you find their registry? Is that a public info?
Just Google their name and “registry”. They’re usually public by default
