Those of you with a toddler - what do you do when you go on vacation in terms of getting around? I really don't want to rent a car because prices are absurd now, but seems impossible to use any kind of ride sharing.
When there’s a costume holiday party and three white men wear Afro wigs. Right after a whole agency wide speech about diversity, inclusivity, and sensitivity. Can I say something to someone about the wigs?

Invited for a holiday party at my husband’s company as plus 1. Any recommendations from where I could buy outfits . Budget $75 to $100
On the bench this week, have PTO Friday, but have already mentally checked out and it’s not even noon on Monday. I feel guilty about not feeling guilty. I just had to say it to all the randoms on FB.
Firm holiday party is cocktail attire but I have a dress I’ve been dying to wear since before COVID. It’s this one but in black. Thoughts?
Has anyone bought a Black Friday or Cyber Monday electronic that’s helped with their work? Trying to find some ideas to treat myself. Hope everyone’s having a nice holiday weekend!
Anyone know of companies that don’t have annoying case studies or skills based assignments that take time off from weekend or work hours? -_- Starting to feel like free labor and ideas they can use for the companies.
I am getting married in Decemeber and am on H1B. I wanted to work from India for a couple if weeks to reach my utilization target since its my promo year. Are we allowed to do that? If yes, what is the process? Otherwise i will have to take pto for a month.
Hi all! My holiday party is this weekend, the dress code is “casual holiday attire”. What would you wear?? I can’t decide!
How do you deal with burnout? I’m just not feeling it anymore. I keep thinking time off will help but I’m not so sure because it’s winter and not as nice outside up north. I’ve been working for 16+ years with the longest break between jobs at 7 weeks. Never take more than a week off at a time. Any tips? Should I say anything to the partners I assist? Should I say anything to my supervisor?
The only way I studied in college is by cramming. Sadly is so hard for me to get studying as it just seems like it’s so long of studying till you take the test and never ends. Have any of you guys passed FAR in a month of cramming? I’m also working but my clients are a little bit easier this time of year and have some PTO days at the end of next month. If you don’t mind sharing your studying techniques if you did pass in a month that would be awesome!
Received verbal offer for position that I’m considering. Assuming I accept, recruiter advised not to give notice until after clearing background check. I have nothing that would come back on that check, any reason to wait for it to clear? I’d rather give notice before so that I’m giving myself more time off in between jobs... Thoughts?
Husband works at nonprofit. Started in August, fully remote. We are on vacation in the Caribbean this week, and I want to stay another week or two. Are the optics of my husband working from the Caribbean problematic?
Work holiday party dress ideas?
McKinsey is hiring across all roles right now in North America. If you are interested in a referral please send me a DM.
New filter for effort when the client is a dick: will this lead to work that will make my/creatives’ careers? If the answer is no & I’ve tried twice to fix it than I’m not losing sleep over it anymore
Been practicing a year now. Of 6 attorneys, 4 will be retiring soon, and I was brought in to hopefully take over. I am troubled: first that my partners largely provide me with no guidance. They handed me a client with a large quantity of fairly straightforward casework and have been hands off since. There also hasn’t been any talk of a raise/performance review. How should I ask for guidance/mentor ship? How do I ask for a raise, or should I presume one is coming?
Is it worth it to jump from a Corp dev position at a large strategic holding company to go into MM sell side banking? The ultimate goal is to get into PE or work Corp dev at an early stage company
I enjoy working at my agency, but received a good offer elsewhere. Has anyone had luck with their current agency matching or beating the other potential role/salary?
one of my biggest personal accomplishments this year was telling my team that i’m taking a day off for a mental health day. i know that doesn’t seem that big, but i’ve always felt guilty for wanting to take a personal day for my mental health. i’m fortunate enough to have a team that is receptive and understanding of it.
Recommendations on a company/job in consulting? Currently an investigator analyst with Guidehouse for a project that is expected to run through the end of the year. Bachelor’s in Business. Working on CFE and MBA. Prior jobs are in state auditing and criminal investigations. I’m new to consulting but I enjoy it so far and would like to remain remote.
Considering leaving for another firm job, one year in. Thoughts? New position would be a better practice area fit and would only work with clients in the industry I want. Currently it’s about 60% of what I’d like. Also, current firm seems to be stagnating with low hours to go around. I’m worried about not making hours, missing my bonus, and low professional development. Comparable on prestige & exit options and would be $5k less. Just worried about burning bridges and leaving “too soon.”
Take a project that will set me up for manager promotion next year? Or take the project that is outside my comfort zone and will build / diversify my skill set for the long term? Thoughts?
Anyone home grown in IFS feel extremely unmotivated after getting promoted, not being able to negotiate your salary? Esp. when someone from CS moves up and over at a higher salary with less experience
Chase Freedom Unlimited vs Chase Freedom Flex. Thoughts on which to get? It seems the only different is the Unlimited gives you 1.5% on all “other” purchases, and the Flex gives you only 1% on “other” but a 5% category you choose each quarter. Both have the same intro offers, including 5% groceries for the first year, and 5% travel thru Chase, 3% restaurants and drug stores forever. Thinking the Flex is the better pick out of the two but maybe im missing something
Anyone jump to Oliver Wyman from MBB, S& or another traditional strategy firm? What's your experience been like?
Any recommendations for a good, free budgeting tool and any tips for paying off credit card debt? Mint isn't doing it for me and I have some debt I need to wipe out
How is moving from Technology Consulting as a Manager to Government Job as Project Manager. Is it too slow and lot of politics, any experience?
ORD terminal 1 vegetarian food recommendations ?
Who's gonna be at JFK this morning? I will feel less sorry for myself knowing others are flying at the buttcrack of dawn.
