What do you guys typically say when your interviewer asks why you want to leave your company? I actually struggle with this question a bit.

New learning opportunities in an industry that I'm interested. That was always the plan. Leverage consulting to find my industry of preference and then eventually move over. Leverage consulting to set the foundation and build my core hard and soft skills.

I would think safe answers would focus more on personal goals and less on complaints about/issues with your company.

Avoid complaints about your current company—it sounds petty.
If you are trying to go from large to small firm or vice versa, safe answers are “growth potential”, “get to wear different hats” and so on.

A vague answer is perfectly fine: interested in new challenges, opportunities to grow, blah, blah, blah. It’s really just a test to see if you’ll talk trash when given the open. Don’t.

Depended. Switching to another consulting firm or industry?

If industry - want to get operating experience, become more well rounded, eventual goal is to own a P&L.

It's awkward because both the recruiter and you know it's for the money or the title.

But feel free to ignore that massive elephant.

Don’t say to get off the road - apparently that’s not a good enough reason lol

Hi Everyone,
Any suggestions on networking in the private finance sector?
I recently transitioned from public to private sector finance to be more well-rounded and I’m having a hard time connecting with people in the space. I work for a fund admin in the digital asset space for HF & PE/VC firms and I noticed how much “bro culture” seems to impact the industry. Networking is hard enough working from home but I know how important it is to make those connections.

Hi! I'm a GedEd Middle School ELA teacher in Texas. This year I'm teaching 3 sections of coteach ELA and it's been a nightmare. I don't know if the coteach model is just a nighmare or if it's just the way my school/district has rolled it out that is making it a nightmare. Does anyone have experience with coteach? Any help is appreciated.

Hi, everyone! I am extremely passionate about issues such as climate change and gun violence, and how money in politics leads to inaction and disinformation regarding these issues. Does anyone have any insight as to where I should be looking for employment opportunities? Practice areas, the type of organization, traditional vs. non-traditional law jobs? Any help or guidance would be appreciated. I really want to make a change. Thank you!
