Amex people thoughts on this offer, as I have recently(4 months back) joined a startup with Base(33) and CTC(35.5) but not enjoying the work here. Amex brand tag and culture is good.

I miss industry.
That people are generally motivated to deliver and get promoted. When I worked in industry it wore me out how low some people‘s aspirations are.
The learning culture, where there is always something new to discover, learn or develop.
I’ve also heard A is big on this. The learning band development aspect. Ive wondered how it differs though

I used to say the people until all the good ones left one by one. So maybe now it’s the constant that you can’t trust anyone. Don’t like it but at least it’s constant

Sadly, the D of 10 - 12 years ago was very much a people oriented culture. Now we’ve turned into a standard nameless, faceless corporation without any stock option kickers. Just the endless carrot of PPMD that gets further and further out of reach...
Our fun culture and we put people over profits 100% of the time.

Similar to what Slalom 1 said, considering we’re a mini version of them. Our “culture of care” internal branding rings mostly true, especially at the local office level. But it only helps so much...we just got hit with 10% layoffs due to covid :/
