What do you miss the most from pre covid?

Genuinely confused as to why so many state and local governments are dropping all covid safety measures. Things have been trending downward, and that’s great, but almost the entire country is still at high community transmission levels. I don’t understand the metric they are using to gauge things all of a sudden.

I’m triple vaxxed (with booster) and wear masks everywhere (except for when I go for a run outside). I’m very cautious, because my wife has asthma and is pregnant. Just found out today I tested positive AND had passed Covid to my wife (who is staying at home all the time). we are waiting but I might have also spread it to my 90 yr old parents whom I’m visiting for Christmas. Like WTF? I feel like I had been lied to by these big pharmas..I’m praying my wife’s condition doesn’t get worse

Both of my parents tested positive for COVID today. They’re both in their mid-60s, and one is quite overweight and has severe kidney issues. I’m worried sick. What are their chances of coming out of this fine?

Maybe I’m terrible, but does anyone else find it distasteful how some nursing/health friends in departments largely unaffected (i.e. NICU, L&D) by COVID are bragging about being on the “frontlines”?

I am scheduled to fly from NYC to Mumbai via Paris next Wednesday (Jan 5) for a ~10 day trip. Some of my friends who are parents said they're not worried about covid because it's very low risk for children. They know I'm a teacher and that I'm in a high-risk category. Makes me feel like they don't care about me.

Does anyone else feel like Education is a joke right now? I think that with all the COVID virtual learning we are setting a precedent that Educators are not necessary, students can learn on their own. I am scared we are setting ourselves up for a major shift in the educational profession while not truly "teaching" our students.
