What do you think about career growth potential in the telecom industry? Would you leave consulting for a good opportunity there? Interesting projects and work?

Only good if you want to chill for the rest of your life - highly political and slow moving

Telecom is an incredibly mature industry. There’s not much room for fast development and few look to the major players as a source of top tier talent. All major players also outsource a large amount of work to MBB, so consider consultants your competition for ‘interesting projects.’

Been having trouble moving on since girlfriend ended relationship 3 weeks ago after 2+ years of dating. Before ending it she came over 3 weeks prior to basically give me a chance to work things out and we had a good discussion but then I went back into our routine and didn’t really fight for it or have serious follow up convos that we needed. Now I just have so many regrets that I let her go. I know we still love each other and left on “good” terms but can’t forgive myself for my lack of action.

I am currently at a firm and received an in-house offer. Aside from main items like comp and big ticket benefits like PTO/health insurance/401k, what other items do I need to think about discussing/negotiating? For example, fees to keep bar licensure, professional association fees, CLEs, etc. I feel like there is so much on that end I currently take for granted being covered at my firm. Anything else I should consider?

Hi All - I am in the last stage of interviewing for Booz Allen. I’m an aspiring consultant transitioning from industry (healthcare). BAH told me the position itself is full time but it is “attached to a contract.” Should I be worried that I would lose the job if and when the contract ends? Would love insight from current or former BAH folks
