Make them feel like they’re valued, acknowledging someone’s hard work goes a long way. Also include everyone on the “cool” projects, just to get their minds going again. Resentment occurs when you have only certain people working on fun projects which results in others working nonstop on the projects that bring in money just to keep things afloat. I’m also a creative so things may be different but my first point stands for any capability.

You need to understand the root of the problem. Talk to them. You need to create an environment where everyone can speak openly. Maybe they’re not feeling motivated. Or maybe they’re not compatible as a team. It happens. If that’s the case, change it quickly. Life is chemistry.

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I’ve been through 5+ weeks of interviews with a company that will IPO next year and they did a bait and switch on me with the offer: it was advertised as “Head of” and then during the offer-walk-through-meeting today they said “oh btw we changed the title to ‘Senior Manager’ for this role”. They offered me a salary I made 4 years ago as a manager. They offered stock options with an exercise price TBD 1 year from now…which is when they’re hitting IPO. Is that normal for stock options?
