What do you think the timeline would be for business travel as states are thinking to open up ? It worries that they open up and firms force to travel for projects.

My husband and I aren’t FIRE but take retirement and savings more seriously than our friends. 9 month emergency fund, max my 401(k) and his match. Will pay off school loans in 2 years and then invest more heavily (paying those loans first is important to us). We have a small mortgage (under 270) and drive modest cars, but we otherwise like to live and travel while young. TC 180 in LCOL area.

Can anyone relate? We do hope to retire, but I never hear about people following a similar path.

How many years have you been in consulting, and how many flights have you missed? For me, 3 years and 2 flights. Technically missed several other flights as well but they weren’t a big deal (next flight took off in an hour and I still got there before anyone else) or were on purpose (called delta and asked to be transferred to the next flight because I wanted to sleep in more). 2 flights that were actually an issue - final answer.

Lost sense of maximizing points/mileage value for int’l flights. Why is Detla redeeming so much more for some routes than Chase UR and even other partner airlines? E.g. non-stop economy btw Detroit-Seoul // Delta redeeming 160k on its own route while Chase UR 123k & Korean Air 80k for same route (code share)... I get it all depends on timing but still weird directly using Delta Skymiles on its own Delta route is more expensive than going through other methods....

Hi everyone ,

I hope you are well.
I currently live in London, United Kingdom, but I’m thinking of moving to the US in January.
I haven’t been to the US before, so I don’t know much. I also intend to work whilst I’m there :).
How does the US visa work ? Where in the US would you recommend to a black woman that’s scared of guns ?
Looking forward to hearing back xx.
Thank you :).

Did I just mark myself as a flight risk by telling my managers that I was going to take another internal opportunity? If the new manager changes her mind in the process (and of course she still can since the written offer is not out yet - the org likes to have everything buttoned up before handing out the writing offer so it's accepted immediately), am I screwed? Oh I also said, to my current managers, that the workload was wearing on me... this idiot here

Hi EA Team! I’m interested in hearing from you all, what kind of projects do you take on? In the EA role Besides the basics: of travel, expenses, calendaring, space captain, offsites. I ask bc my boss is offering me an opportunity to start getting more involved in the business he said, and i quote “i want you to be an extension of me” what kinda role is that? I love Ops work, i use to do it at a start up, and being in a global company now i realized how much calendaring is not my favorite lol

Looking for a Caribbean vacation recommendation for my husband and me. Want to go for around a week in early summer. We are active, not partiers, like boutique or small hotels or b&bs. Like being able to walk places. Like a more local experience versus touristy/resort-type places. I’d love somewhere that I can lay on a beach with a pina colada and also go hiking/explore nature or explore a local town so that we don’t get bored with so many days. Thank you!

Interesting Data. Seems like lower income Republicans are divided about opening up while Dems in general worry about opening too soon. Middle to High income Republicans want economy opened. so yeah, even the people that have lost the most jobs (lower income bracket) are more divided about opening up

Really struggling right now. My wife doesn’t believe in sleep training or any type of schedule for our firstborn son. He’s over a year now and refuses to nap when we try to put him down. My wife doesn’t care that he takes over an hour every night to fall asleep or sometimes just won’t nap unless we take him for a drive, but being home every day it’s really wearing me down. I support her and love her but our second is on the way and I’m really worried

What should the reaction be if the vaccines end up only being reasonably effective. Say we end up with a going forward rate of 100,000 dead per year. Or 50,000. Is there a point at which you say you were willing to take the risk and move back to a normal life (gatherings, restaurants, travel, etc.)? Recognizing they lockdowns can temporarily reduce counts, but not eliminate the disease.
