What do you use and enjoy for grammar in upper elementary? I’d like something more natural than a workbook, but I like the structure of prescribed lessons!

I’m in lower elementary, but I’ve found using Mentor Sentences helpful. I’ve read up on it, and it seemed interesting. They’re some on TPT, check them out.

I will! I’ve heard a little bit about mentor sentences but haven’t done enough research. My kids do great with grammar, but then struggle applying it in their writing

Check out teachers paying teachers. There is so much material on there and relatively inexpensive. I have found great resources to supplement my horrible ELD curriculum.

Thanks! I use TPT a lot!

Yesterday was a good day. I was really impressed with myself. I woke up at 5, practiced dance lessons, did two water colors, made breakfast and tea, got to work by 10, put in 8-10 hours of solid work and then came home. It’s been ages since I painted or danced. However today, I slept till 7:00, did not work out or have food. Still got to work by 10 and did 8 solid hours of work. Some days are good and some are just okay. And that is okay. Trying to build on my good days and we all can. :)

I feel like the usual consulting exit messaging to new employers used to be “need to get off the road”. For those exiting during the pandemic, how are you phrasing the decision to exit to potential employers? My concern with saying something like “need improved work-life balance” is that it equates to “I want to work less hard” given that many companies allow remote work right now which blurs the hours of operation. Am I overthinking this?

Recently, as you probably know, Dr. Seuss's estate chose to stop printing a few of his older books that had offensive racial stereotypes. There was huge backlash from white people, including teachers here, screaming "cancel culture!" Now we have a white guy who murdered eight Asians in custody, unharmed; while the police officer who killed an African American man for allegedly trying to pass a bad check is about to go on trial. Full disclosure: I'm white. But I'm still enraged by all this. You?

Honestly the interviews seem more like meet and greets. Cont.
