I’m burnt out. Biglaw six years and got pushed out. Now at a midsize firm. I work more than I used to and getting paid 1/3 less. Work is not bad at all and the firm culture is great. I never wanted to become a lawyer to start with but now I’m stuck here. If I switch to a completely new profession, I would have to start over. My hubby’s financials are not great and I feel I’m obligated to stay at my firm job to make it work. I really don’t know what to do...
Confession to top many: I’m no tinfoil hat guy - but I felt machine guns were cool. So I made a trust, got a lawyer, and bought a pre-ban 1972 made machine gun with my internship money.
"URGENT: Status Match" - my subject line to make sure Virgin status matched me before my United status expired. Somehow it worked and they matched me within 24 hours. #justintime
Any insight in to Publicis Health Media or working at Publicis in general? Would you work there over an omnicom / ipg agency if pay was significantly higher ?
Where are we on voting rights? https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/30/business/jamie-dimon-voting-rights-jpmorgan/index.html Huge client of our firms - we can talk a great game on BLM and diversity but can we be strong enough to stand up and speak out publicly in defense of voting rights?
Started out hating Zoom depos. Kind of like them now. In hour two of a co-defendant’s examination, which is entirely irrelevant to my client, and I’ve clipped my nails, stretched fully, planned a hike for the weekend, ordered my home goods off Amazon, and it’s all billable time because I’m stuck on this thing.
Holy crap the Precheck & Clear lIke @ IAD is long this morning. The employee said it’s a normal Monday occurrence
How do you make consulting manageable in terms of WLB? I enjoy what I do at work but I also have interests outside of work. Would an exit be me only option?
Just left for FAANG strategy role. AMA. Profile: nonMBB, MBA from Target school, math/stats background but no coding
Bit of an odd question. I am classic statistician who now leads a small Data Science team. Most of my time is running multiple projects and no time coding. I am now getting pulled into more and more large dollar proposal work typically centered around doing the same type of small scale DS projects for some DoD client but at scale ie 5-10 projects each at the same LOE of my typical projects but in the cloud. So I could use some advice....see second post
Any one leave for Wayfair? How’s the work life balance? Challenging projects? Tips for interviewing?
Does anyone have any insight into Accenture’s Liquid Studio group? The types of projects, culture, etc.
if I go onto internal audit at a fortune 500 company, a role that also looks at operations not just controls, what kind of options will that give me going forward compared to a senior accountant role
Do MBB have facial hair policies?
Interested in Digital/Tech Strategy, which roles should I keep a look out for at each of the MBB? 2 years of experience at the D but trying to leave
How does remote editing work? I haven’t ever made a TVC before so was curious about the process when doing it remotely.
I’m wondering what Accenture is actually doing. Is it more like a Big 4 Firm, doing theoretical consulting things. Or is it more a IT-Service/ Outsourcing company like Connection, Atos, Bechtle, etc. doing hands on technical things? Where is the main focus on?
Freelance designers - what do you do for professional liability E&O insurance? I’ve looked at some quotes and they seem pretty pricey. Do you have it or just not bother? I just started an LLC for my graphic design business. Located in Pennsylvania, USA
