I hope you’re joking! If not it’s a sad sad post - coming from a Mckinsey consultant :) preparing your kid to become a consultant is a horrible way to raise a child, let them enjoy their childhood and find what they want to do in life

like

I’ve wanted to be a technology consultant since I was in high school

I laughed at this then remembered that in 4th grade during indoor recess (if there was bad weather) me and this other kid would compete to make the coolest PowerPoint and now we’re both consultants, he’s at McKinsey.

funnylike

So he must’ve normally won

I have my son drafting a plan to cut his teacher’s salary by half but I’m not sure if it’s enough just yet

likefunnyhelpful

Oh hell yeah OP. Stick it to them good. Also recommend those teachers unions go back to work.

funny

Try to make them attend board meetings in F500 corporations. Maybe create an investment portfolio for they to manage once they are 8 yo so they understand market dynamics. Needless to say they need to read WSJ daily since second grade. That will make them hate society enough to feel comfortable pushing opioid addiction as a method to increase profitability. Plan B might be working on their cognitive skills, make them curious about the world around them, let them play and explore as normal kids, and give them a good education so they are aware of their options and choose whatever they want to be. None of it would be enough for Deloitte, though. You know how difficult is to get in.

likefunnysmarthelpful

I take more offense at the WSJ dig than the Deloitte one… their news pieces are center-right and studies show they’re factually accurate!!! 😤

Teach them how to solve estimation problem when they ask "mom/dad how long is this train"…

They are the kids in the back of the classroom just chugging a whole bottle of glue. They’ll move on to coke by the time they turn 10.

Damn - just straight up skipped the dry marker phase.

ask why

This doesn’t have enough likes. Tbh, for little kids, getting them to think and reason is the best start. Teach them to think and be confident in their thought process, and they can choose whether they wanna go to McK or some other great adventure of life — either way they will get a lot out of their experiences. Read somewhere, when a child succeeds at something instead of saying “I’m proud of you” celebrate their win and say “you must be proud of yourself” — teaches them to seek validation inward.

likehelpful

send them to coding bootcamp so they can make $300k/yr at 2 YOE and work 40 hour weeks.

likefunny

Will require hopping to another company rather than being homegrown but Stripe, Snap, Google, Airbnb to name a few

Everyone at McKinsey will be in prison by the time your kid enters the professional world.

funnylike

Get them a trust fund. That way they’ll humble brag by posting a question asking how they’re doing with 750k in savings at age 25.

funnylike

You assume that McK will have the same prestigious standing when your kid is ready to join the workforce

likesmart

Have them start complaining about the lack of travel in their lives, then have them ask the lunch lady for a receipt so they can do their expenses on time

likefunny

have them never actually submit homework but somehow convince the teacher to feel good about themselves and their impact on the students

like

No logos on his/her clothes

They ask "why?" in response to everything you say. This gradually transitions to "what's the so what?"

You can start asking you kids to deal OxyContin with other kids

They put up extra high dividers during tests to be absolutely certain no one cheats off them.

Looking for advice on project management software or tools for HR consulting. Our firm doesn’t have anything that is standard or used at all, and while some of us are starting to venture into using Microsoft Teams, I feel like there are so many tools out there and we could be doing things way more efficiently. We work in small client teams (1-3 team members per client usually) and it’s a mix of strategy, tactical, and outsourced HR work. Any suggestions?

Looking to get some insights in PwC's bonus policies. I have an offer from PwC in their Salesforce practice and the bonus offered is a range of 27% to 35%. But they have not included that bonus % in the offer letter. For those who have worked at PwC, is this a norm? Have you seen them follow through the Bonus payout?
