Enter documents into financial system. Repeat every day. ^^one example Basically doing work that the clients staff should be able to do, but can’t because of lack of staff or incompetence or something else. Not as demanding on the brain and no opportunity for flashy slide decks

Currently on a staff aug project that is mind numbingly boring. Helps my utilization and I don’t have to travel, those are about the only positives I’ve found.

If it's on the tech side, you'll be challenged like a normal tech worker and learn and apply new things. You also get to work more like a tech IC than a consultant. If you're doing a great job, the client may either poach you or privately refer you to another company in the same space.

like

Deloitte 1. What do you mean? Are you referring to the tech role as a staff Aug or your consulting title?

Instead of providing advisory services, you’re doing work alongside the client. Basically you’re a contractor not a consultant; same job duties as an employee.

If you’re on a high burn project it might seem like a nice break from the constant challenges and pressure, but I can assure you it is mind numbing and boring. Try to stay away at all costs.

I am beyond stuck in my first 1.5 years of my career. I was over promised opportunities at my first gig and then Covid hit.
