Pursuing a lateral move to Deloitte Consulting. Experienced Manager potentially 1-2 years away from SM. Expected comp? Tier 2 city.
For those in a in-house position in Florida, can you please share your annual salary? Trying to get an idea of what to expect…
Can someone help with the base salary range for a 6+ years experienced finance professional with FRM and CFA certifications in Big 6 firms in Advisory practice? Also, what should be the expectations for joining bonus during the current times?
What is the the exit comp range for a Senior Consultant / Manager (post MBA)? More curious about the high end. My guess is ~150 - 300k total comp.
Thoughts on Simon Kucher? Looking at a Health Tech and Solutions internship; currently at an M7 MBA program, prior B4 advisory experience
Don’t hate on me plz. I’m planning to get an online or hybrid MBA with focus on information systems. I studied and worked in Control Systems Engineering and got into consulting at 27, manager at big4 now(33). My focus is to simply get better at what I do as I rise up the ladder. Would really appreciate any schools one can recommend. I didn’t grow up or studied in USA so really not sure which colleges might be better (?) than others.
Recently got a question from my alma mater for MBAs: 🐠 What do you think the most important marketing content to cover in MBA programs is to best prepare students for management consulting?
Need to recertify my AWS-SAA cert. any recommendations on best resources given the new test format (SAA-CO2)?
I am certified in Workday Financials. I am getting pushed to get certified in Payroll. Is the HCM certification a pre-requisite for Payroll?
Does anyone know the average comp for a CRM Consultant in Accenture out of NYC? Or other tier 1 cities?
Prepping for AWS Cloud Practitioner cert. Any suggested on sample test questions that best represent the exam?
New AWMA... curious to know what a reasonable salary expectation is and what the growth looks like for an associate within a growing ensemble. For context, background is more analytical, taking CAIA level 2 in a couple weeks, then plan on pursuing CFA.
First time interviewing as an experienced hire. When a recruiter asks salary expectations, do I counter and ask for a range? I don’t want to go high & get dinged but also don’t want to get shorted.
SF fish: how much do you pay in rent each month? How much do you make? Alternately, what % of your annual salary goes to rent? I take it the 30% rule does not apply in the Bay Area 😣
I love this group. For those that receive company equity as part of their comp, what’s your strategy? Do you immediately sell it all and put the cash into index funds?
My cousin got into UC Berkeley undergrad for comp sci and I am incredibly proud of him. I wanted to gift him a MacBook. I wanted to understand if MacBook Pro 13 is good enough for comp sci folks or should I be looking at MacBook Pro 16?
For people who are familiar with work culture in Tokyo, how much embezzlement takes place? I see a good number of Japanese people on Instagram buying Bentleys and such. I'm confused how they can do so while living in a high COL with, on average, lower salaries than in the US. With the scandal at Nissan and how many executives were found to be stealing money from the company, I wonder if this is some unspoken secret about doing business in Tokyo? Unless their comp curve is extremely steep.
Thanks for doing this! Last year it was announced we would see a market correction in salary vs. the other big 4. What we got was underwhelming to say the least. What was the rationale behind this?
Would you leave Deloitte as a M for MBB but at one level down (SC equivalent)? I’m conflicted because I feel like I have a strong network internally and have lots of freedom to execute projects as I see fit but worried switching would take away all that plus move me backwards in role / responsibility.
What exactly is “Client Partnership” role? The description sounds strategic and fancy but I have a hunch it’s more like running after clients to beg for their time.
Have offer at interesting late stage startup, 135k base 15k bonus and approx 20-25k in stock grants annually. Feels a bit on the low side but it's a decent raise in any case (7 years consulting xp plus MBA). Worth negotiating for 5-10k more in base?
Has anyone transitioned into product management? I would love to hear your story! I have 8 years experience in project management but I don’t know how to pivot. I don’t think I want to pivot internally because I’ve heard negative things about our product management teams. I’ve been thinking about moving into project management at a SaaS company but that is proving to be hard since I have no SaaS experience. Would love to hear anyone experience on moving into product management.
Anyone know much about Sikich based in Chicago? Have an interview with them for a position in their business valuation and litigation advisory practice.
Anyone else switch firms recently (or to industry) and really struggling with not only the role, but being part of your team? Seems my team has know each other through multiple projects and I feel like an outsider, not doing so hot on the project either...worried about my future here
Anyone here work in product management in tech or financial services and know if their company is hiring? Currently working in product management in financial services and looking for new opportunities.
The last guy I dated put me on a pedestal. At first I thought it was flattering but now I’m realizing how utterly damaging it was to both out mental health and how it likely came more from a place of insecurity than anything. Anyone else experienced this? Trying to figure how to tell the difference in the future between genuine interest and an unhealthy situation like that.
When you get asked if you have specific experience with xyz in an interview, and you don’t, is it better to just say no and move on or to try and relate it to other things you’ve done?
Any recommendation on case interview books/websites/courses other than case in point? Especially product metric related case interviews. Thank you!
health-ish tip of the day! if it’s a good weather day, opt for a lunch outside! i feel so much better with lunch, coffee, and this breeze. specifically directed to NYC fish because the weather is 💯
My school has decided to bring all students back and put them all in the classroom. I have 29 students with the potential of 32. I don’t feel comfortable with this. We are supposed to try to keep 6 ft between isles, but in the row of students they are desk to desk. So shoulder to shoulder 6ft or less. Face to face is about 2ft, and some are much closer....... does anyone else have this going on at their school?
Incompetent senior is up for promotion this year and is mostly likely gonna get promoted cuz she knows how to kiss asses. A couple people on her projects already quit and no associates want to (con’t)
