Disregarded as an entity separate from its owner under US tax purposes. Flow thru

This is the default assumption, it’s referring to the box checked on a form 8832. You’ll notice that technically you can use the form to do vice versa as well or check to eg become foreign pshp in some cases. The form has several different uses.

like

Typically used when an LLC chooses to be taxed as a corporation rather than the default entity type of partnership. They fill out Form 8832 and “check the box” to say they want to be a corporation

Not just for an LLC, for any eligible domestic or foreign entity.

The managing partner of my office likes to make jokes about Covid now that it is “over” (either in small group convos or speeches to the office). My dad died from Covid, and I honestly feel like it’s so insensitive for him to make these comments when he knows that I lost my dad to it. Our office isn’t that big, and I don’t think many people forget being told that someone they know lost someone from Covid. It has made me consider leaving because of it, but the economy isn’t great.

It seems like everyone is in agreement that switching firms gives you a salary boost, but that you could be viewed as someone that doesn’t stick around. Has anyone felt like they got held back from jumping firms every 2-3 years for the salary bump? I know peers that bounced around 2-4 times in a 7 year span and they are making significantly more money than if they stayed at their first job, however it didn’t seem like any of the new companies cared that they bounced around.
