Corporate and real estate? Or Corporate or real estate? Two very different practices, although both transactional.

The position I’m looking at is for a corporate associate role and the firm does real estate, business transactions and commercial litigation.

Hello! I need advice. I have 5 years of digital marketing, project and team management experience. I’ve been doing design work w/o realizing ux/ui was a career since the beginning. I didn’t keep record of those projects but I created a portfolio to show proof of knowledge/skill but it’s not lengthy. I know how to use design software, wireframe, prototype, and I do feel like a lot of my knowledge/ skills are relevant. Should I be going after Jr, mid or senior lvl UI roles?

Looking to hear stories of those of you who decided to pursue a new career much later in life. 36 years old and considering going back to school to start a new career from scratch. Really hating my line of work and don’t think I would enjoy it much more even if I moved to the industry. I think I would enjoy the new career path more, even though I would have zero/low income for a while. Would love to be inspired by those of you who did it.

Hello there,
I have left my job from Muthoot Finance Ltd. A gold loan company I was working and I have a experience of 1.5 years, there was no point of being in that company as they give promotion in 3 years and after that you will find yourself working as same as you are working before just that your designation changes from Junior Relationship Executive to Relationship Executive and that was not good if you want to move ahead and want to switch my career in business analytics, is it possible.?

This may be just a naive/dumb question, but how do you relax when you’ve got a really stressful file? I’m a junior and I’ve been putting in ~10ish billable hours a day recently, which is more than I’m used to. The evenings (post-8pm) are generally my time to decompress - read a book, watch dumb tv, whatever - but it’s been all work lately until 10 or 11pm and I struggle to go straight from work to bed. Any insight on what everyone else does?

How much do you rely on your para? I’m in my 30s and pretty computer literate, I don’t dictate, I like doing research etc. I know other attorneys that have their paras do all their discovery, all their research, all their motions and I wonder how it’s possible to hit billables if someone else is doing the majority of your work? Seems crazy to me.

Is it “unprofessional” or otherwise bad for a career for a firm attorney to start a YouTube channel unrelated to their work? Do the in-house folks here care whether outside counsel makes YouTube videos? Assuming nothing controversial or otherwise offensive in the YouTube content.
