For me it feels like I can’t muster the strength to do even small things, ie shower, makeup, dress for work. I found myself making every excuse to not go to work. I’d get on a plane and get to client city, check in at hotel and just work from there. Couldn’t face people. Once I started an anti-depressant / anti-anxiety med, all was right again in my world.
There is a clinical test with 20 questions, if you answer more than 5 yes - you are depressed, if more then 10 - severely depressed. It was in D Burns “Feeling Good” book, but I am sure there are versions of it on internet if you google it.
Lack of interest, not interested in looking good or even the smallest thing spoils your mood but even the biggest good thing doesn’t lift your mood. Either you don’t eat at all or keep eating mindlessly. I think these are some symptoms, I started feeling them too but overcoming by staying active, meditating and adding a lot of healthy habits and reading instead of watching TV. Staying away from work politics and gossips and finding my own pace and rhythm now.
asked if I was depressed. I really don’t know. I had PPD after my first child and that was horrible. But I don’t feel like that. Just feel like I’m in a rut and struggling to change my mindset/habits.
