What does it take to become an AD? Or at least own and operate one?

Given all the demand currently, recession pending, it seems like a pretty decent gig.

I would think this is the worst possible time to get into the business, recession pending

Or buy one 6 months from now once it's in full swing?

No idea but I imagine that business is not super crazy unless you are able to get Rolex, Tudor, Grand Seiko. I feel like there’s just too much competition around the other brands.

Have you ever thought about getting into vintage watch dealing? It seems to me that there’s great upside there, but obviously a lot of risk as well.

As a sometimes-poster of my watches let me introduce you to a new brand and acquisition called "AERONOM" from Germany.

Saw it as a recommendation and was intrigued and have it now.

Here some details:
- Automatic Movement
- Caliber 8217 with 42 hrs Power reserve
- 41,5 mm dial in a 46 mm case of stainless steel
- date window at 3 o'clock
- black diamond at 12 o'clock
- 24 hrs indicator at 9 o'clock

It's one of 200 produced and even though it's heavy and a 46 mm case is big but nice to wear

El Primero savants, what do you think of this one? I like that it has the vintage style chrono seconds hand and the general retro handset and font. and I love that it uses the 400 movement which has the yellow gears which just looks so much better to me than the 3600. But it’s online only so no AD discount, and not sure it’s worth the premium over the new Original line. I think I also prefer having the grey sub dials, although I love the story behind this one. What are your thoughts?

New to luxury watches. If I were to wear one watch that makes a statement without being too flashy, which one should it be.

I am seeing this as an investment (1) dress to impress, and (2) eventually pass it on to my son who is an investment banker.

Please recommend in 3 ranges: around 6k, up to 12k and 12-16k. tia.
