What does ‘Senior Associate’ mean in terms of level at JP Morgan? Associate sounds junior but from the description they’re looking for experience of certain methods, processes and tools with experience leading streams of work.

It’s like a (senior) manager (but not a SM). Banks are (for IB) Analyst (3 yrs) Associate (3-4) VP Director MD VP you stop being a process monkey and most never make it past VP. Senior associate is probably akin to being 1 or 2 years away from being a VP so you should be structuring things on your own having the foresight to understand what your boss wants etc atleast showing these traits if not being able to do them

Generally senior associate isn’t a designated title more of an internal thing (banking is very hierarchical) I’ve never seen someone’s title be “ senior associate” you just know who is and who isn’t

Just Google the grade structure. Why are you asking here...

Don’t you think I tried a google? All I can find is salaries, not expected years of experience or what progression looks like.

Associate is split into two bandings. Insecure people retitle themselves as senior associate once they move to the upper banding. It corresponds to 5-8 years experience.

It varies significantly by division, function, and region. I'm assuming you're interviewing so these are the questions you should be asking in the later stages.

Hi All, I left the company after 6 months as I was in support project. Being a Developer, I was not interested. I have been hired for development in new company but here also they put me in support and promised me the development project... If they don't provide development project, what are the options I have? If want to leave, how much duration I need to work here? Will it affect in future if I leave the company as I will be changing two companies within a year? Please advise me... Thanks...

Just wanted to remind my fellow creatives that agencies need us more than we need them. It’s important to be respectful, but don’t be afraid to speak up, push back, ask for a raise, ask for time off or quit. The value we bring to the table is fundamental, very hard to replace and is often overlooked by us and leadership. Agencies everywhere are in overdrive mode and creatives are being overworked to keep the engine moving. Make sure you’re compensated properly for it.

Debating on investing on our first rental property. We were initially thinking about a rental in our area code (northern virginia) but all ideas/threads on here seem to indicate renting a beach front property on airbnb would be a win-win. Get mortgage covered over the summer and use it as a vacation home during winter. Is it that straightforward, what are we missing? Any reasons why we should not invest in a beachfront and instead stick to original plan? Tia!

I’d be curious for peoples thoughts on permanent life insurance. We’re early 30s, 2 kids. We can very likely comfortably afford the big up front investment for the next 15 years or so. It feels like putting the money to work in equities is a better play but don’t want to write this off if it’s worth it. Right now I’d say our net worth is around 1.5 with 55% equities. 30% home equity, 10% preferreds, 5% cash.
