I've seen associates land PE roles, it's just no headhunter is going to come to you. You will have to look for opportunities yourself. (You probably won't get the MF Blackstone, KKR roles, but I'm sure some MM PE shops are open to it)

I’m also trying to figure this out. Seems like it’s largely Corp dev (and PE if you hustle), but I’m hoping there are maybe more options

Great question. I think BB IB still certainly leaves the door open to MM PE after a few years, and you get GS/MS/JPM on your resume, so I don’t think it hurts. Is it worth it if you just want to go MM PE and have the option to? Probably not… the reason I’m considering it is that recruiting for PE out of mba sounds scary/hard and I’m pretty averse.

Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!

Serious question: why do firms still have MBAs as hard requirements? Is there some legitimate knowledge, value, or (still) perceived prestige in staffing MBAs vs someone with equal qualifications but no MBA?

Im currently working almost 5yrs for corporate banking, which is obviously non related forensic or accounting practice, but passed all Cpa exam already for career change. What else do i need to be prepared to hunt the foresic job in neat future? The level doesnt matter. I just want to start off with forensic accouting practice. Is additional CFE helpful? Any advise for career change? Would that be hard?

Plz help me decide these 2 offers. 6 YOE. No MBA. Leaving consulting @ $194K TC 1. Health System Dir of Strat. TC = $230K. On site 2. Sr Mgr for late stage Health Tech startup TC$185k (not factoring in stock options). Remote Option #1cons: boring but easy. 8-5. Older team. Very traditional in their thinking of healthcare. Little growth opps. Dislike being on site everyday. Option #2: pay cut is hard on my ego(financially will be fine). Pros: Future exit opps in tech/product.

Hey fam. Appreciate your inputs on this: I used to be a software developer and currently work as a tech risk consultant (CISA, CRISC certified). Have completed a couple of cyber courses but do not have prior cyber experience. Most cyber sec job postings require prior experience in cloud, aws, devops etc. Applied to a couple of roles but no avail. A) Can I start a career in cyber security without prior experience? B) Will CISSP or relevant cyber certifications help?

Same day cancellations? I’ve been freelancing at agency in a mostly full time capacity for a few months. Working remotely, billing hourly. They are very particular about billable time and nitpick downtime. The budget has been cut and hour reduced. I requested a schedule so we can all plan accordingly. Now I “show up” in the morning and am told there is no work. I would normally bill for 4 hours but they insist they don’t guarantee hours. I don’t even know how to respond anymore. Suggestions?

Mother superannuated today and was able to watch her farewell speech. Feeling very emotional (i.e. tearing up at midday) as I recall our humble beginnings and how much my middle class family has sacrificed and achieved. My parents sent their only daughter for higher education abroad and it is tough to see them grow old. Getting exposed to so many new facets of life as a 25F…. just one of those days. Kind words only please 🙏

I just started at a new company 2 months ago with the expectation of having 3-4 people on my team. However, my team size will be increasing to 7. I don’t really want to rock the boat so early at my new job especially since I’m still in the “drinking from the firehose” phase, but this is going to be a significant increase in responsibility. We only have pay review in January of each year. Would it be crazy to ask about a raise later this month?
