Upward mobility -> do they have promotion cycles and career pathing? She can do an industry comparison by looking at similar roles at competitors. Probably helpful to understand how entry level the work is - are they going to expect specific skills or will they groom her. For ex:
First job was entry level ops at a health ins carrier. Started out just doing strict data entry. (Keying applications into the system). Based on aptitude, I was given more responsibilities over time. They helped me develop excel skills, eventually made put client facing, given the reigns on process design. All within the same role over a 1-2 year period and eventually promoted. There was no expectation that anyone have skills beyond basic typing and plenty of people on that team had worked for 15 years just doing data entry.
When i pivoted to consulting i took what was considered an entry level role and the expectations were very different. Many colleagues were fresh out of college and expected to self teach certain skills on their own time. There was no grooming, no hand holding, no development. You drove it all yourself. Promotion cycles were rigid but qualifications were not.
Thanks so much for the amazing advice! She did some research and asked for more - got a bit more ☺️
Base, bonus, vacation days, retirement are the things she’s looking at, but not sure what’s worth negotiating (if it’s even possible)
Chief
All of those are at least hypothetically up for negotiation, though it's going to vary from firm to firm how much if at all they can be negotiated
