LTI and Mindtree merger planned on 6 May as per media report . The brand name Mindtree will be dissolved. Seems appraisal discussions and hike is pending due to this event.
Don't expect good hike and people who can sense the future work culture , will start looking for the change now

Hi there,
I’m currently working as a Consultant (Staff) at EY and moving to NYC to study data analytics. My goal is to go work for some big tech (Microsoft hopefully) once I’ll have graduated in NY. Do you know how much $ I can expect considering I have 2 years of work experience (1 yr start up + 1 yr at EY) ?

Look into Slalom consulting (specifically slalom build - basically on shore dev.).
Would avoid the huge ones and look into more of the boutiques. The huge ones have those kind of roles as well but they also have 10x of the other roles you're talking about that they could likely try to fill you in.
Move to federal… requirements for development to be 100% onshore.
Can confirm. We’re a federal contractor and all our devs are onshore. We have plenty of roles people that want to continue to focus on development as they progress in their career.
I would avoid firms and focus more on companies that actually build products. Firms can often place a person in a staff aug role that you are looking to avoid. It’s more about billing than building. I have found opportunities to participate in hands on developer work to be scarce at these types of firms. There is one firm that you definitely want to avoid.
Maybe there is just one really bad firm that I hear about often and might have experience with. I agree on boutique firms.
Most of the back office and business support teams do hands of development. But they exactly are not very high growth teams and often considered as cost center.
I worked at Deloitte and Accenture and had hands on Dev work at both. However, you need to be somewhat lucky, pushy, and also skilled to be put on such projects.
UKG integrations are now mainly done in India, but the file maintenance is done by the Business Analyst/Quality Analyst/Developer - all 3 are one job in the US now called an RIC- Regional Integration Consultant, aka they just made this change, so I need to learn SQL asap as it is now part of my job now….. like it of not. We are hiring as we have lost people because of this recent change.
