Hey I’m taking a job with the government but it is your typical accounting firm. Hours are way better than big 4 and you have plenty of exit opps if you don’t want to stay in public.
This firm does have its share of office politics but what larger firm doesn’t. The systems at cohn are also a bit older so depending where you come from there might be a fair bit of adjusting.

If you do general tax you’re most likely to get normal busy season and off peak at large national or regional firms. I would focus on firms outside the top 10 to get what you want from a peaks and valley perspective. B4 and mid-size (gt, BDO, rsm, etc.) focus on a public and large private company client base so you’ll end up being busy year round pretty much. Just my 2 cents
