What firms are hiring data privacy associates?

i currently work in finance strategy transformation under the cfo group.. we do a lot of thinking about how to make the cfo group more tech savy as well as other levers to be more efficient.. im thinking about my long term career and the 2 easy options i see are either corporate strategy or try to learn as much as i can about tech and position myself as a SME in the finance tech strategy space.... wondering if anyone has previously held a similar role and what their exit was

Fired after two weeks at a startup. Does anyone have any referrals? They lied and misrepresented the role throughout the entire hiring process. Upon me discovering I had an apparently different role, they didn’t like that I asked too many questions and fired me. Does anyone have any referrals. Just recently given an offer within my own department, new role created just for me , base salary is def an improvement from my old salary. I decided to negotiate other stuff. But now I feel bad. Why is it as a women, and never being given the chance to negotiate before, I feel bad now asking for what I think I’m worth. Locked in $22k gain on BA 4/12 puts this morning. Could’ve been $30k but with the volatility, got spooked out on the opening bump to $380 given its resiliency and surge potential.

Didn't have top grades, wasn't on law review. Worked at a midsize firm and was laid off in march-- have about 3 years experience in a hot practice area. I have an offer to a commercial real estate company in hand. My current brokerage (residential focus) wants me to pay $3000 penalty since I’m breaking the contract and leaving. I’m financially struggling and 3k is a big number to pay now. The new job will be paying me $2000/month up until the first year only. Is it wise to pay or stick around in residential sales just to avoid that penalty?

Apparently IAPP had a webinar this week on hiring in the privacy field. My mentee and a few law students I know all watched and it sounds like a lot of the advice was pretty bad. I wish IAPP would tailor things for attorneys versus compliance, consulting, engineers, etc. I feel like they are doing such a disservice to everyone by trying to cater to all audiences at once.

Does anyone here have experience as a combined Privacy Officer and Privacy Counsel role or working with a combined role? We’re deliberating combining those roles at my company, chiefly to save headcount and budget. I have some concerns about someone serving both roles at once (e.g. maintaining privilege), but that could just be me.
