Fired after two weeks at a startup. Does anyone have any referrals? They lied and misrepresented the role throughout the entire hiring process. Upon me discovering I had an apparently different role, they didn’t like that I asked too many questions and fired me. Does anyone have any referrals. I have over 3 years of AE experience and generated over 300k of overall revenue in my previous role.

I have my Bachelors & I accepted a job at a starter up healthcare tech company which is growing. When I accepted the position and salary I honestly didn’t know what to expect or how to negotiate a salary pay. I accepted the job and salary because it was more than my old job and I needed to get my foot in the door. I’ve been here for 3 months and I have found out I am getting underpaid than what other project coordinators are getting paid. 10k less than them. How should I ask for a salary adjust
Has anybody here ever moved from an associate position at a firm to a non-attorney type position at a company (e.g. manager of business/legal affairs or compliance/reg or contracts manager or something else) then eventually found their way to an in-house attorney position?
Hi Fishes,I am currently working in a broking firm & wants to change my role to data analytics. I have also started learning Python & SQL. Please suggest how to get opportunities into data analytics. My current industry experience is 7 years.
Just recently given an offer within my own department, new role created just for me , base salary is def an improvement from my old salary. I decided to negotiate other stuff. But now I feel bad. Why is it as a women, and never being given the chance to negotiate before, I feel bad now asking for what I think I’m worth. I’ve been loyal to my company for over 15 years and gotten the shaft, and now that this has come up and seems like a good offer, I feel like I owe it to my self to negotiate.

Hey all, new to this bowl. Currently a Tech Recruiter and eventually want to make the transition into a HRBP or HR Generalist role. Would love to hear from anyone who started in recruiting then transitioned into another area of HR. Have been thinking of either working on PHR certification or MBA with focus in HR mgt. Thanks!
Locked in $22k gain on BA 4/12 puts this morning. Could’ve been $30k but with the volatility, got spooked out on the opening bump to $380 given its resiliency and surge potential.
Didn't have top grades, wasn't on law review. Worked at a midsize firm and was laid off in march-- have about 3 years experience in a hot practice area. Have been applying and had some interviews at larger shops but nothing has come of it. I'm still applying to roles (not many out there) in my area but coming to the realization based on number of larger firm rejection letter that I may not find a role. Where would you go from here if you were me? Was making good money at the midsize...
I have an offer to a commercial real estate company in hand. My current brokerage (residential focus) wants me to pay $3000 penalty since I’m breaking the contract and leaving. I’m financially struggling and 3k is a big number to pay now. The new job will be paying me $2000/month up until the first year only. Is it wise to pay or stick around in residential sales just to avoid that penalty?
Why do we think that the presentation and severity of COVID-19 varies so much from patient to patient?

Is there any additional tangible value in getting the CIPM in addition to the CIPP (I.e., will a company hire a candidate with both the CIPP and CIPM over one with just the CIPP, if both candidates have same YOE)?
Anyone here attend IAPP this year? Did you feel it was beneficial from a knowledge standpoint or mostly helpful for networking?
What are the best resources you’ve found that walks you through step-by-step, the data incident management process and what to ask your client?
Apparently IAPP had a webinar this week on hiring in the privacy field. My mentee and a few law students I know all watched and it sounds like a lot of the advice was pretty bad. I wish IAPP would tailor things for attorneys versus compliance, consulting, engineers, etc. I feel like they are doing such a disservice to everyone by trying to cater to all audiences at once.
Does anyone here have experience as a combined Privacy Officer and Privacy Counsel role or working with a combined role? We’re deliberating combining those roles at my company, chiefly to save headcount and budget. I have some concerns about someone serving both roles at once (e.g. maintaining privilege), but that could just be me.
I’ve recently been asked by the gc to create a big picture privacy plan along with some kind of organized documentation of privacy decisions made. Does anyone have any advice on how to accomplish that
Firms hiring in Texas, Iowa or remote? Junior associate with CIPP (US +E), CIPM, and a post-grad fellowship in cybersecurity.
Anyone take the CIPM recently? How was it?
Which law school courses are worth highlighting under relevant coursework for a privacy focused position?
Recent law school grad here. I'm interested in breaking into data privacy. I haven't had any internship experience in the area, but I've taken related coursework during law school. The positions I've been seeing require 5+ YOE. Any tips on how I can break in? Thanks in advance.
Hi all! I’m inclined on taking up the CIPM training and certification exam. I’m already a certified Data Protection Officer in the Philippines. I intend on skipping CIPP as it applies to the US and EU.
How difficult was the exam? Can you share your experience studying for the CIPM exam? Is it advisable to skip CIPP?
Many thanks in advance.
