Wondering what y’all would do to help get management from a 1980 mentality onboard for hybrid schedules? My company has a lot of long-tenured leaders, which is great, but they are living in the past with the lack of flexibility, and we’re losing candidates for openings, as well as starting to have more employees quit because we’re required to be onsite, when a lot of our jobs could be hybrid. What do you think could work?
Attended HCL tech interview 2 weeks back. No response regarding status of discussion. Got below mail from them a week back. What does it mean? Do I have to give interview once again?
I just got this 😍😍 and loving it! ( a bit oversized but still nice “bf” look, Won’t keep it on this strap tho)

Hello there! I'm currently getting specialized into AI/ML and want to get into the finance/Fintech sector. Is a MSc worth it for the task - an online course would do?
Also, I'm new to the platform and based on what I read, most of the users are from the USA, is there no European influence here??
I am on my way to transition from Sales to CS. So far I got my Level I CSM as well as finishing LinkedIn Learning courses.
I have to rewrite my CV to let it sound more CS like.
Is anybody willing to look at my CV as well as an elevator pitch.
Please DM me, and thanks for the help.
For the junior associates out there, I’m a 2020 call and am convinced that I’m taking a lot of time while working on deals. I’m also not really sure how my efficiency compares to other associates as I’m the only junior in the group. The junior partner I work with primarily always tells me to rack up my hours but I’m also afraid of looking inefficient with the more senior partners. Does anyone ever write down their own time? Or is ashamed of how long it takes to draft say a direction to pay?

What do you do when you follow a partner’s instructions to the T, but they end up criticizing your work product and by extension your competency? Do you politely push back or just take it?
Are there any groups at Salesforce that value developers? I'm in Q Branch and it baffles me how solution engineers make $30-$40k (I make $99k) more than me when I've been developing on the Salesforce platform for 8 years. I get that they are client facing but if it wasn't for my team and me, they wouldn't land as many big deals. I could make $140k elsewhere for context
Starting a new project and it’s something I’m super interested in. The team seems great but it’s really fast paced and I’m starting to feel stressed. I’m 12 weeks and starting to feel better physically but worried about the work stress during pregnancy. Anyone in a similar boat?

How is your firm’s bonus policy structured? Set amounts based on year of call and hours? Discretionary? Who the hell knows? What bonus?
Hi everyone, couldn’t find much Canadian content in other bowls so I figured this would be a good place to start for some real comparables!
I’m a recent call at a global law firm. When are bonus’ paid out generally? End of February? Thanks.
I’m a junior litigation lawyer based in Windsor looking to lateral to corporate big law. I have been doing commercial litigation, tax litigation, and tax planning. I’ve done corporate reorganization, corporate structuring, rollovers so corporate would not be completely new to me. I did a solicitor rotation during articling and was involved with several m&a deals. Has anyone managed to make the jump from litigation in Windsor to Toronto big law corporate? Your advice is greatly appreciated.
Anyone know of mid to large firms in Toronto looking for junior commercial litigators? Hoping to make a move soon.
What has your firm’s turnover like? Are people dropping like flies or holdout out for February bonuses? We seem to have someone resigning every week.
I really wish the big law firms in Canada were as transparent about their pay and bonus scales as what we are seeing in the US. Does any Canadian firm share bonus scales??
Trying to rid myself of ID work and get into commercial lit at big shop. I’m just about a year in, and so I was wondering if it makes sense to go to a smaller/midsized shop first then see where I’m at in 3-5 years if big law is still a goal.
Anyone has info on DLA Piper in Canada? How is it seen compared to other Big Law firm? They opened recently a office in Montreal too.
When are your offices planning on reopening?
Any Canada Big Law firms throwing around retention bonuses again this year or are those days behind us? The work sure hasn’t slowed.
What are mid level corporate associates billing this year? Asking because I’m moving to Canada from US big law in a few months, and want to know if I’ll still be drowning in work. Thank you!

Usually, Davies and Osler. This year, all of them.
I remember they sent T-shirt’s to their articling class with slavies on the shirts and had to recall them.
McCarthy’s - speaking from personal experience.
Bennett Jones, Davies, Stikes... In that order.
Turnover at Bennett is high with almost the entire group of associates changing every 3 years. I think more than workload, the culture has to be the worst on Bay St.
McCarthy—just based on a small sample size of my friends. the hours are super intense.
Speaking from experience: Stikeman but it’s not 100%. If you work hard enough, others can get a break and bill 85 hours in December while you billed well over 150 hours. They also treat you like shit unless you are in the manager’s possy…
