What grinds my gears is seeing that lots of places are "actively recruiting" or "urgently hiring" but they won't hire me 😒

How can I pivot from working as an ad agency art director to a commercial director/DP? I’m trying to get on as much commercial production experience as possible in my current role to build up experience. I’m also doing a lot of side projects - I have a couple shorts in some no name festivals and am getting better on each project. My original thought was to work my way up to Creative Director and pivot from there but I’m not sure if that’s the correct route. Any advice is appreciated!!

Question for all of you - Year end performance is coming up and let’s say you’ve been doing a great job and have met or exceeded everything required of you in what you were hired for / job description. However let’s say throughout the year you worked on other things outside of what your normal job description/day to day should be. Should the feedback your received from those other things be part of the overall review - good or bad?

I received a job offer from a client making significantly more. PA matched the offer and now I’m torn. It’s less about the money and more about the peak of hours in PA. My firm has said they will try to spread the hours and shift clients around. Has anyone else been promised this before and did it actually happen?

Think I messed up talking to a recruiter... said my number instead of a range... she said they can for sure do 5k less than what i said. but will have to check about my exact Amt. I am expecting the written offer next week.

Struggling with debilitating anxiety and mental health issues lately. I want to take a few days off to breathe, but I’m leading a workstream on a short project where every day is critical and our small team would struggle to cover for me. I wouldn’t do that to them so I have to keep holding on till the project ends in June, but I feel so depressed in the meantime. I’m normally a high performer but rn i’m spiraling and I’m stuck and I’m miserable. Does anyone have any advice?
