What happens if my H1b extension petition is due and I am on bench? Do I have to be on a project for getting H1b extension?

Bench is better as it avoids the Hassel of client letter and all for worksites

Nope - my extension was filed and approved while I was on the bench

Depends on how your law firm and you decide to move forward. Bench may look better, but majority of the documentation that you need to provide for rfe depends on what type of work you do, and guaranteeing that you do/can do that work. And, most of that documentation can be provided easily or accurately if you are staffed. Anyway, I was in the same situation. When extension was filed, I was staffed but not when I got the rfe. I had to provide previous project details to lawyers. Thank god that project was still going on (although I was rolled off) so that all dates, letters seemed appropriate to support my case at the time

Which company?

Need advice for resigning while on bench. I already have a start date with the new employer. Should I do a traditional two week notice or give <=1 week notice instead? My goal is to not burn bridges, but I also don’t want to get let go on the spot since I have nothing to “wrap up” besides HR tasks. I’ve read on here that sometimes they will let you go day of and pay you out for two weeks but I don’t see why any firm would do that for somebody not currently performing billable work...

Interviewing as a Finance Manager for a company halfway across the country. Relocation hasn’t been brought up yet. They know I’m out of state. Can I assume relocation will be offered since they didn’t say it wasn’t? Should I ask before going onto the final round of interviews? Company is owned by Fortune 500 company and has over $250 m in revenue. Also what could I expect to be included in the package? I’ll be a individual contributor.
