What happens if we test positive for covid? Are our ivf cycles cancelled?

Depends on your clinic, but yes, most likely

like

OP, where are you at in the cycle?

like

I got Covid between my retrival and transfer month (I did a month lag) and it was ok since nothing was going on. I would think if you’re actively in one or about to start they’d postpone or cancel. 😖 sorry if you got Covid (hopefully this post is hypothetical)

like

They will cancel your cycle. For starters, it risks exposure for their staff and other patients. Also, active covid infection is an anesthesia risk, and since they have to sedate you, it's for your own safety that they don't go forward.

like

My clinic's procedure:
1) Test 2 days before starting stims
2) Test 2 days before egg retrieval
3) Test 2 days before starting transfer protocol meds
4) Test 2 days before transfer

Yes, unfortunately at any point in the process if I (or my husband), tested positive, the process would be stopped / cancelled.

Since we did an FET, it essentially meant we were extremely cautious for 2 months. I still stand by it was the most anxiety-producing part of the whole thing!

like

We tested negative so ready to begin but suddenly nervous and paranoid about so many covid cases

like

I saw this recently in the FB group It Begins With the Egg (group for egg retrieval/IVF support). Even though they had a great response, they tested positive for Covid just before their retrieval and were forced to cancel the procedure. Consult your clinic on what their exact policies are. Good luck!

We requested to use frozen seamen so we only had to worry about me testing positive for covid. my husband was tested before his sample but outside of that they only tracked me. Made things a hint easier. (this was for IVF)

Same as well, I’m so happy we did this because he ended up getting Covid after the sample! It also made the logistics of scheduling easier - not sure why it wasn’t offered outright and we had to ask

Hey all,

My baby is measuring very big but doesn't seem to be coming on her own, so doctor wants to induce around my due date (I'm 39 weeks pregnant now).

Any risk factors I should take into consideration? Things I should make sure to bring up with my doctor ahead of time? This is my first baby.

I am in the process of IVF due to my husband's male factor infertility. I am so grateful for the benefits that EY provides and wanted to know if there is any consideration for reevaluating those benefits? We know that IVF is incredibly expensive and for some of us, having children is a top priority. Does anyone know where or how we can petition for enhanced or shared benefits? I have ideas.

I’m a business/commercial lawyer with 8 years experience looking to relocate to Chicago from NYC area, while also trying to make the jump to in-house after only ever working at a boutique firm. It’s been 5 months and I haven’t had any luck applying to job postings on the usual sites (no calls, no interviews, nothing). I can’t tell if this is due to covid, the market, the fact that I don’t have any in-house experience, the fact that I live out of state, or something else entirely. Any insights??

Folks, why is this Boston Bowl so quiet (relatively speaking)? Is our community so small that we think there’s no anonymity to our posts? Are we so busy juggling (with Covid making it worse) that there’s no time for this? Or are we blissfully happy so not much to question or comment on? I learn much from the conversations in other Bowls and think Boston wisdom would be good to read too.

I'm a US citizen living abroad I applied almost 11 months ago for my spouse. Married for years, kid. I wait and wait. It seems this will take 2 years, maybe more. I feel trapped. On one side the US system demands I work and domicile in US, the other side says families should be prioritized to stay together. My spouse has had enough of the process. I feel trapped abroad and locked in a dysfunctional system. We're just in limbo, it's depressing

Hi fishes,
I'm 22 and planning to take a life insurance. I'm comparing all policies and max life seems attractive as it has good claim settlement ratio and less premiums. But there is no office near our area. My worry is that if there is a need to claim in future, it can be done all online by my nominee? Is it recommended to take policy online in any platform(like policybazaar)?
Other options I'm considering are SBI life, HDFC life which offices are available in my locality.
Please guide

Had a my 7 week ultrasound today, confirming I’m PREGNANT after my second medicated IUI!!!! So happy to have heard that heartbeat. There were some oddities on the ultrasound- wondering if any of you have experienced any/all of these and how it worked out (doc didn’t sound alarms, just said we’d keep an eye, but naturally I’m worried):
1. Grapefruit sized cyst on right ovary 2. Unknown object with no heartbeat (maybe a hematoma) in the gestational sac with my baby 3. An empty gestational sac

I had a surgery for ectopic pregnancy about two weeks ago and I’m still insanely tired. To add before the surgery, I was given one dose of methotrexate and my hemoglobin tanked from 13.8 to 10.8 between the first blood test ( May 1st week) and the last ( June 1st week). I think my tiredness is cause by a mix of low hemoglobin, methotrexate, and surgery. Any advice on how to get my energy back would be appreciated.
