What happens if you don't pay your AMEX bill by the due date? I haven't been reimbursed for my expenses yet.

AMEX usually doesn’t add the late fee for awhile and even if they do, most of the time they will remove it if you tell them you are waiting for your company to pay. You can use the chat feature so you don’t have to call them.

Just pay it, you will get reimbursed. You are doing it wrong if you can't float one cycle for a few days

like

There's usually a 30 day grace period without penalty. If you're later than that, the fee is yours to pay

like

If you haven't been reimbursed than the fault is yours for failing to submit expenses in a timely manner. That said, your payment can be posted as late as the day before your statement closes and it is still considered on time. I have paid mine day later than that once or twice in the last 10 years, and the only hug that happened was an automated nasty gram from compliance people that was promptly deleted.

Thanks! Appreciate the quick and helpful responses.

If it's your ACN corporate Amex, your CC will get notification that you missed your payment. And if it's a recurring thing, it will be considered during your talent discusion.

^Your compliance people sound so much nicer than ours

There are many things you do as a consultant for clients. There are a few important things you do for yourself: get time sheets in on time, get expenses in on time.

It's not a point of fronting the money I shouldn't have to do so when the submission date is in the middle of the week for expenses you can't claim in advance (hotel specifically especially if you are staying in NYC). This is a first time occurrence and I'm not thrilled to front $2.5k for a hotel expense. Unhelpful response need not respond. Thanks.

You shouldn't need to front anything unless you're super late in submitting. Call them just to be sure but I bet you're fine

OP, I think you are confused about billing cycles. You pay the previous month's charges on your amex. Don't pay the full balance, just pay the statement balance. There are no interest charges doing it that way, so don't worry. That leaves plenty of time to submit and get reimbursed for expenses. I have never experienced the situation you are describing in 7 years if traveling with ACN.

First year here as a general staff accountant. Midsize. Been asking scheduling for work but only managed to get 10 hours of billable work last week doing a couple 1040s... I also ask around yet everyone says they’re fine. It’s still considered busy season here since I’m at midsize and it feels wrong not hitting atleast 40 billable hours. It would suck if I got laid off cause of it. 🥴
